Month and a half into it

My dermatologist increased my dosage to 40mg twice a day and I noticed my face breaking out more, dry spots on my face, lips continue to be dry, and that's about it so far. My nose is getting dried out but no nose bleeds yet. My lips really bother me because I play an instrument, but my major concert is done and will likely reduce my playing for the summer. I am excited to see changes happening and look forward to seeing more.

Two weeks into it

Two weeks into my journey and I have noticed dry skin and lips and occasional headaches. I was very concerned about the dry lips being a musician, but I found a few products that work really well for me and I carry them with me religiously and will probably buy more to have on hand. The headaches occur occasionally and when I start to get one, I drink a bunch of water. I have started breaking out a little bit more, not a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing changes happening. I'll post pictures at the one month mark.

I am a 32 year old female and have had acne for almost ten years now. Since starting my teaching job, between the stress hormonal changes, and having a child acne has ruled my face. It has come and gone and I have tried many different acne methods both medical and natural. I finally had enough when my son asked why I had ouchies on my face. After being referred to a dermatologist and I told her my situation, she explained I had cystic acne and that's why it wasn't going away. The next best step would be to try Accutane. She explained everything to me and I spent the last month researching it and decided to try it after reading reviews on here. Today I met with my dermatologist and she was very comforting and reassuring, answering all of my questions even some personal ones on what she did while on Accutane. She started me on 40mg of Absorica every day and took my first pill today. I drank lots of water and will try to continue to do that. I am a bit concerned about the chapped lips because I play the trumpet, but I am going to tough it out. I will try to post on here every week my progress and pictures too. Hopefully it will help someone decide if Accutane is the right choice for them.
