Hi everyone,
I am 20 and have been wanting a 'nose job' for about 6-7 years, its is only now I am 20 and got things like school and college out the way I am finally getting it done. I hate my nose becuase it is HUGE and I have a bump at the top and a hook like tip.
I have had a couple of consultations and I have decided on a surgeon who I have confidence in and I feel he knows what I am expecting and what will suit my face.
My surgery is scheduled for 3rd October and I can't wait, I'm a little nervous about the actual procedure and I don't deal with pain to well. Pre and post op photos to come soon!! :)

I had my final consultancy with my surgeon this afernoon, i feel so much better for seeing him again before my op, he has really put my mind at ease! We went through what we can try to achieve and all the pre op do's and dont's.
Apparently becuase my skin is thin on my nose and it is structure-wise delicate my op should be fairly straigh forward. So I am a rhinoplasty surgeons dream.
To date my surgeon has been great, he has been straight and honest and nothing is too much trouble. I can call and he and his team are more then helpful and reasurring.

So the big day was yesterday, I was so scared, one min I was fine and excited and then the next min I was panicing and crying.nearer the time I got that worried they had to give me something to calm my nerves.
The staff then came to get me and take me to surgery. Next thing iam awake and back in my room, from the blood I had swollowed during surgery, I sicked it all back up.it wasn't pleasant.
My eyes are a little black and my nose is a little sore, but I can cope with it.I can still breath a little from my nose but I am trying not to.
In general I feel ok, and I feel a little stupid for getting myself in to such a panic. I am just waiting for the my surgeon to come back and give me the thumbs up so I can get ready to go home.

Hey, so its been 4 days since my op and its the best I have felt, the swelling on my face has gone right down, and my purple and pinky/red bruising is now going yellow, so I'm healing quite well.
I'm so tempted to try and clean out all the dried blood in my nose can't wait to get this splint off on Monday.
I've read a lot of reviews on here, but I must say I haven't actually been that congested. I've been able to breath from my nose the majority of the time, and I've been drinking so much water, I haven't got any cracked dry lips, and the throat pain I had has now gone. Upto date pics to follow! X

Its been 6 days since my op and I am so excited for getting my split off tomorrow. I can't stop looking in the mirror and I can kinda see how it is going to look once I have the splint taken off. Each day the bruising and swelling is going down. I have been also using distilled witch hazel which i have been puttting on my bruising a couple of times each day as well as taking the arnica tablets.
Once I have my splint taken off I will be sure to upload some more photos :D I'm so nervous about what I'm going to look like and how people are going to be about my new nose.

Had my splint off today! I was expecting having it removed to be painful and uncomfortable. But not at all, it was all over in a matter of seconds, with very minimal discomfort. I am so pleased with the result, I can see passed the swelling so I have a really good idea on how it is going to look! I CANNOT WAIT to see the final result!

So its day 12 post op today, and I still feel great, its the first day where I have looked in the mirror and seen the final look, I know there will prob be some very minimal swelling but I can really see it, I can breathe pretty much fine through my nose now, however I tend to me more stuffy in the mornings when I wake up.
The only bad thing is that I have some awful spots on my nose, I'm guessing because the skin on my nose couldn't breathe because of the split, also for some reason I have loads of dead skin on my nose that keeps peeling, sorry I know this is gross, but I'm guessing this is again because of the splint, I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen?

Its day 16 since my op and I feel great. I can't describe how much my confidence has improved since the op and all the bruising has gone. I can now feel my nostrils and my nose doesn't feel as stiff and numb, I still can't feel the tip though, but appaerntly it can take months for the numbmess to wear off! My first day back at work was great. I was a little worried about what people would say, but everyone was really supportive and commented on how different but nice I look!

Hey everyone, its been just over 2 months since my op, and I absolutley love my new nose!! I'm getting a lot of compliments, still makes me feel uneasy though and I stil sometimes think people will look at me in the street and know I have had sugery. My tenderness in my nose has now completely gone. It only hurts when I knock it the dog head butted me yesterday and its really made my eyes water, the tip is still very numb but the feeling is slowly coming back. All in all I feel fantastic and it has really boosted my confidence. Ill even go out without makeup! I'm back for my final check up in Feb next year, ill post some up to date pics x

Thanks so much for starting your story here on RealSelf! There isn't a whole lot of pain, per se, with rhinoplasty. Usually, anyway. It's more the stuffiness that's an issue! Looking forward to seeing your photos!
That said, stay on top of your pain meds the first couple days!
I'll be thinking about you Monday! Come back and let us know how it went.
I am soooo scared right now, everytime I think about surgery I feel sick. By nature I am a worrier I am dreading it!
Surgery is a big deal. Don't beat yourself up for getting scared. And now it's over and all you have to do is heal! Thanks for the updates.
