Having no previous knowledge or experience of cosmetic surgery, I feel like I struck gold when Dr Marando was recommended to me. At my initial consultation Dr Marando took his time to listen to what I was looking for, explain my options, the procedure, and respond openly and honestly to all of my questions and concerns. The use of other patients before and after photos was very helpful for me to have realistic expectations. The consultations were at my pace, I never felt rushed and there was absolutely no pressure to commit to any procedure, in fact the very opposite, I was encouraged to do my research to ensure that I choose the right surgeon for me. Dr Marando is warm, welcoming and understanding, and equally as comfortable talking to my husband and mother both during the consultations and pre and post surgery. Throughout the process, despite the personal nature of examinations, Dr Marando made me feel comfortable and at ease. Once admitted I continued to receive an exceptional service both from Dr Marando, the anaesthetist, recovery and general nurses. The procedure itself went exactly to plan, my experience of the 3hr procedure and recovery could not have gone more smoothly. Whilst the length of time in theatre may sound like a long time, this reflects the care, attention and perfectionism of Dr Marando. The pain post surgery was not to level that I expected although obviously there was some discomfort which was well managed. There was no need for drains as there was little excessive bleeding, and the scarring although expected is very discreet even at 1 week post surgery, the bruising was also minimal, again reflecting the skill of an experienced surgeon. Finally, I have felt very well cared for post discharge, with regular follow up appointments with Dr Marando and excellent communication throughout with Martina. Even after 1 week I was thrilled with the size, shape, and the rate of recovery. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Marando to anyone considering any breast surgery, he is a professional, highly skilled surgeon with a lovely a sense of humour and a natural ability to relate well with his patients.
