I am in the process of having all my front teeth resurfaced after years of chips and wearing away of the surface enamel. It was highly recommended that before I have the resurfacing done, that I have my teeth whitened by the Zoom process. I did so yesterday.

The technician had to take molds of my upper and lower teeth in order to make up the take home trays. I never liked it very much when these molds are made but I lived through this process. The actual Zoom process itself ,although not a very comfortable process, was not that difficult to endure. I had 3 processes, each 15 minutes. There was no tooth pain, only a very little gum sensitivity. The only real discomfort to me was the heat involved. The total appointment took 2 hours and no one really enjoys sitting in the dental chair for that long. But, overall, it wasn't that bad.

I am very pleased with the results. The teeth are very white an now my overall whiteness matches the color of my crown that I had done years earlier. I have another appointment in about 4 weeks to begin the resurfacing of my front teeth and I feel good about the proper color matching will be achieved.

If I wasn't having the resurfacing work done on my teeth I probably would not have elected to Zoom. It's is very expensive but it might be worth it if you make your living smiling and working with the public. It is purely cosmetic and is not necessary for health teeth. But if you're a white tooth freak then the Zoom might be for you.

Hi RShouldis,

That's great that your teeth are all the same color now. I can only imagine how great that feels when you look in the mirror. Did you experience any zingers and are you going to go back for more session or are you finished? Please keep us updated and pictures would be awesome if you have them.

Thanks so much for the review,

-Britt

There were no zingers but I do remember the technician explaining that they were possible. I had absolutely no pain other than being uncomfortable sitting in the chair for over 2 hours.
I will probably not have another treatment because the only reason I had it done was to prepare for a proper color match for the major front teeth resurfacing that I am having done in a couple of months.
Zoom may be a good investment for a model or someone whose income depends upon their smile and overall looks. Further, Zoom is not a cheap process and there are some risks. Each person has to weigh the benefits/risks before they decide to Zoom.

Thanks for the added info. Glad you didn't have any zingers they sound super painful. Nice you don't have to have another treatment, good thing the first one did what you wanted. Keep us updated. :)
