Slow But Moving

Hi everyone,
It's been awhile since I posted. I am officially 5 weeks out from my surgery and getting used to my new stomach. I am able to eat food, but trying out different types. I have very little hunger, eat a lot of protein and drinking. My starting weight on March 3rd was 254 lbs. as of today I am 227 lbs. my hips and thighs are still hanging around but I am able to fit some of my clothes which I haven't been able to wear the past 4 years!

The key I have to remember is "this is a journey not a final destination". It takes time and patience. I will post pictures at the end of April. Pains are pretty much gone and I am feeling better. One day at a time!.
Peace to all - this is the best thing I could of done!

Slowly But Surely

Had my surgeon appointment yesterday to see how I was doing. Down 17lbs, BMI from 47 to 44, all vitals good and I am doing well. I still get tired fast, but that is expected. Walking and just being. My weight today is 235 from 254 so consistently it goes down. There was a few days it stayed the same, but today if broke by 2 lbs. I will post some new pics when there is "less" of me to see!

5 Days Post-Op

Hi everyone, here's the update:
To answer Beth 6580 regarding my starting weight - On Feb. 20th, I had my last measurements and my weight was 254.63. My last bit of food was on March 1st. When I weight myself this morning I was at 240 - loss of 14lb. (understanding I haven't had anything solid since the 1st).
My nausea has diminished quite a bit, but I still get the "wave" in the am ( I have pills for that), the pain is actually at a 0-1. The only thing hurting is are the incisions. I have very little appetite ( no problems there), sipping, h20, juice - diluted, pops, using a little Crystal Light. Was able to do laundry, clean house, food shopping all yesterday. All good.
My surgeon advised me to start my protein shakes. Well, I was released from the hospital on Friday, tried the shake Saturday - no way was the going down! I sipped but my body said "not today baby"!!! I am trying this morning again. It seems to be doing better. Vitamins check! all doing well. I live in an loft in an old mill in MA and the great part is I live on the 6th floor and the laundry is on the 3rd. So I have begun to take the stairs half way up and the elevator to the top. I walk the long halls which can take time and It is a nice walking area in general. I am getting more than my 40 minutes walk, naturally because this is a "walking town" right on the river. I am using Isopure Protein mix which was recommended to me when I had the band but will be looking for something else since it seems the chocolate might not be agreeing with my new stomach.
Well, that is my update will send pictures in a month or so. Oh, one more thing, I have no back problems when I wake in the morning and my foot is pain free!!! that in itself is a blessing!! I now walk like a "sassy 54 women" should walk as oppose to walking and feeling like a 90 year old! Praise God!
