Lower Eye Reconstruction - Los Angeles, CA

After six years of going to plastic and oculpastic surgeons, my right eye was a mess: asymmetrical, unable to close. I had to wear tape on the side of my face to hold the eye up when I went out, use eyedrops constantly as the eye would dry out and consciously ‘try’ to blink looking ridiculous. Needless to say my self confidence was shattered and I was pretty miserable.

By some miracle I came into contact with Dr Guy Massry, and thank god!. We first Skyped as I live overseas and after much discussion I booked my appointment to have reconstructive eye surgery on my right eye. This was no small decision given the expense of travel on top of surgery costs. There were no guarantees that he could fix my eye until he saw me in person. When I arrived in his office I was absolutely nervous that maybe I would have to live the rest of my life with odd shaped, unclosing size eyes.

We sat down and Dr Massry went back and fourth looking and discussing my situation with such compassion, professionalism and knowledge. Just to add because of many previous surgeries this was definitely complicated. He asked if I would be happy with 50% improvement and I said yes. What a relief even just to have eyes 50% better!

We scheduled my appointment with Anna who’s wonderful and very thoughtful. From just entering the day surgery to all the nurses, anesthetist and Dr Massry they were amazing. I could tell right after the surgery that my eyes looked not only 50% better but 100%. It’s now day 14 and they look incredible. Even. Symetrical. Grateful. Happy.
If there is one thing I have learned is that for any surgery you go to a doctor that specialises in that field. Dr Massry is an artisan, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and I would say the best in the world.
