Good Starter Procedure - Long Beach, California

This is a three step procedure beginning with a solution called Levelan which is applied and stays on the skin for two hours. The next step is intense pulse light (IPL), which acts to stimulate collagen. The final step is to lay under a blue light for seventeen minutes. This phase can be a bit uncomfortable, your skin gets hot, but you are sprayed with cold water. That's it, you're finished. You leave with your skin looking normal, but as the day goes on you start turning red, and day two you are very red, and day three you begin to peel. What I like about this treatment is that it is not so severe that you could have a bad outcome, as it is done three times, about a month apart. But, the best part is that it is covered by insurance for about seventy percent of the cost, as it is deemed cancer preventive. I had it done by a highly regarded dermatologist, and his staff of technicians have been with him for twenty plus years. It is a safe procedure, it will remove discoloration, tighten the skin, improve skin texture and you will lose a few wrinkles!

The recommended protocol is to have the procedure three times, one month to six weeks apart. I was told that some people only have it once and are satisfied with their results. I just did it for the second time, but it had been four months (timing considerations for ten days of "shedding") between. The optimum results are achieved when you do them closer together, as the collagen production is greater. The ladies in the office have all done it as directed, and then do a "touch up" procedure once a year. They all look beautiful...but I haven't seen a girl who didn't have perfect skin in a derm office yet...have you?!

Haha, so true! They all do seem to have great complexions, no wrinkles, etc...maybe we should go to work at a derms office! ;)

Wow, that is really good information that insurance will cover this! How often do you have this procedure done?
