“Invisalign - totally worth it, needs some discipline though - London, UK”

I used Invisalign in the UK. I had a horrible crossbite, to the point that I avoided smiling. I generally found the treatment to be perfectly fine. The pain is minimal, I found that putting on a tray before going to bed is a good idea. Usually then you wake up with your teeth somewhat adjusted to the trays. I would tell people who want to use invisalign that you have to be very disciplined about it. I would literally wear it 24 hours a day. My initial treatment had about 25 trays for top and bottom, and lasted a total of 13 months. Contrary to what most people think, the top set of teeth are a lot easier to move than the bottom. I had to have an additional 7 trays for my bottom, as a couple of my canines were stuck in position. The attachments are there to add pressure to some teeth to make them move. I had around 10, which is on the higher side, but they are barely noticeable, and you get used to them. It is important to have strict teeth hygiene whilst using Invisalign, otherwise you can get cavities between teeth. I would urge people using invisalign to floss after every meal. None of my friends ever noticed that I had any attachments. That said, none of my friends ever could tell I was wearing Invisalign. Only one person noticed, and that was a former american football player, as he said it reminded him of the mouthguards that he would wear whilst playing. To summarize, I would urge anyone to go for Invisalign. As long as your are disciplined in your approach, there is a lot to gain from the treatment. And yes, it is almost invisible. It taught me a lot of teeth hygiene; I got done with the treatment 6 months ago, and I still floss my teeth 3 times a day. I will try to find my before and after pics and put them here. I get compliments on my teeth all the time now. Girls love them, and my confidence has increased massively.
