Liposuction was worth it: Thigh and abdominal liposuction

I underwent tumescent liposuction by my plastic surgeon,{edited - doctor information is located above the review} in Los Angeles. I had been dealing with some additional gain over the last several years, was by no means fat, I just couldn't lose my love handles and thigh bulges. The results were great, and the pain was actually not bad at all. One thing that really helped me afterwards was wearing the garments for not just weeks, but almost 6 weeks as my doctor encouraged. It significantly reduced my swelling, and improved how I felt. However, I've talked with other girlfriends who have had the procedure who state they didn't wear garments, but a large binder device. What is the difference and why does it seem even with such a large amount of liposuction in Los Angeles, all doctors have a different instructional philosphy after surgery?
