“My lifestyle lift nightmare”
Lifestyle lift: NOT worth it
Pain: Severe
The office in Manhattan never was on time for any appointments, ,they just jammed people in there with no respect and no regard for their time. no apologies.
I chose the Lifestyle lift because they convinced me I was a good candidate and that it was 'safer'
No one noticed my 'facelift' except for my unbelievable scars. My friend who had a facelift, the traditional type the same month, has undetectable scars. The lifestyle lift doctor didn't make any attempts to hide them as I requested.
as for the extent of the proceedure, I needed more and they were not honest with me. I felt they'd accept anyone who had money in their hand.I was beyond disappointed with this 'result'
It was a total waste of money, and I am too traumatized to have my facelift redone, even though my friends were so upset they have offered to PAY FOR IT with a reputable plastic surgeon.
To turn this nasty, disappointing situation into a virtual nightmare, The eye lift was a disaster.
you ruined my eyes. I have been to numerous doctors since, to try to recover my pleasing almond shaped eyes.. which are now smaller, and round.
I have been told over and over that they 'took too much skin" and no one can help me. I also have a lump under my eye that I never had before.
after the surgery I developed ectopia , a dangerous , and disfiguring condition..with my eye almost hanging out.. and had to go on steroids and massage my poor eyes.to avoid a corrective surgery
I should have started a lawsuit.
I was so upset with my eyes which now seem more light sensitive, that I found myself wearing sunglasses all the time. I am told that this is why I subsequently had a fall ( In a dimly lit area) ...which resulted in an injury which caused pain for a year.. and has now required surgery and hospital time, and I am now in Europe recovering.
I think your proceedure is good for a tiny fragment of the population
and is an ancient technique, ..the one the did BEFORE the current, more logical full facelift. You tout this as a new proceedure. and you should be ashamed. Very very ashamed.
Updated on Feb 24, 2009:
I had my lifestyle Lift done in 2006. My review is posted under the title"My Lifestyle Lift nightmare. ." I can not believe these positive posts.. since I have received numerous emails from women who have had their lives ruined. I feel these positive ones are plants. I also can not believe women are still opting for this archaic procedure.. this temporary facelift is the most expensive thing you can do ..seeing as it ..AT BEST provides a freshening up, which is 1000 % calculated to fail as gravity takes its natural toll. And you'd have to do it again. does this make it a good buy ? I don't think so. especially since the procedure itself can be so disgusting. you wouldn't want to do it again.
My update is now written in Feb 2009. I still have numbness.. and my eyes are sensitive. I have developed , immediately following.. and continuing...something called dry eye.
My scars are still visible. .although the "lift " is not, actually never was. I have not had success with my lawsuit.. lawyers are reluctant.. maybe if there was more money involved.. but $ 7400 was a lot to me.. especially in retrospect, as my friend spent $ 10,500 for a wonderful, perfect eye and face lift. with masterfully hidden scars. If I had read these posts beforehand... I would have RUN the opposite way. These posts only began around the time I had the surgery.

Don't keep your turkey neck, go to a qualified doctor.. you should check several, I found a wide variation in price.. but TOTALLY worth it. I did it, and highly recommend it. forget the scarfs.. and a young neck makes you feel great. Kathy ( Cleopatra's bus.partner)

I agree with Kathy. You can find qualified Dr.'s out there ;however, Lifestyle Lift is not one of them. Check around & good luck...

Dear Cleopatra, I had EYE TROUGH IMPLANTS put under my eyes, since my skin was always thin and bluish under there. They are working out really well. My doctor was Dr. Apostolakis in Austin TX. I'll bet eye trough implants might help you too.

I have a review posted also. I think they ought to be sued also. Other than the scars there is no difference between my before and after pictures. I am out pain, scarring, I now have a webbed ear and alot of money for nothing.

I am currently involved in a legal action against this company and the doctor. I haven't been active on the post.

I also had a life Style lift. I was led to believe this procedure would be like going to lunch. Wrong!!! After you lose count of all the painful shots of lidocaine in your face, then a place in your chin is opened and a rode stuck in your face that feels like it is being stuck down your throat. This rode is also agressivly ran along your jaw line. (I felt not only pressure but pain.) Then you smell the stench of your skin and hair burning. Oh and let me add how blood runs down your neck and into your ears. The valium they gave you, well that wore off with the shots. Yet to late to turn back now, my face is cut open! I was never told this by the represenative sales person. Matter of fact I met the Dr. the day of surgery and not before. I felt I would faint, and could not stop shaking. I was given orange juice. My face was wraped and I looked like a monster. I was sent out the back door as for no potential clients would see me in the waiting room. Once at home and the lidocaine wore off I took my pain pills and sat up in my bed rocking back and forth from the extreme pain. I awoke to a pillow full of blood. When I was able to sleep at all. I now have a constant infection in my scar area's. I can't wear ear rings anymore because of big read lumps that form under my ears. My scar has opened to aprox an inch, ( I can stick my first finger inside wear the incision is apart.) I have numbness, burning pain (like bleach being poured on an open cut.)There are parts of my face I have lost feeling in all together. My calls were not returned with my concerns, and when I insisted to talk to someone, it was a tech who gave me medical advice to take some cortisone cream and benydryl. I said I am infected. Yet next appointment offered me was over two weeks down the road. Once they took my money I was abandoned. Mind you I am month post operative and having these problems. I ask for my money back, and told there is a procedure to go through, yet never told what the procedure really was. I followed up, I did what I was told. Hello!!! When I did get into to see the Dr. I found out about the attorney general of NY and lifestyle lifts, think you should all check that out. I have to no avail tried to work this out with lifestyle lift. With nothing but the run around. I stay on antibiotics only to slightly improve then infection to run rampent again. My surgery was done in Troy Michigan office. I am in the process of obtaining an attorney, I will not give up ever! This is wrong and people are human beings not animals. I would like to mention my vision has changed and I have constant headaches as well. Oh and when I went into to see the dr. for the infection they never sat me in the waiting room and again sent me out the back door. The Office Mgr said oh it doesn't look that bad so I requested if that were the case then let me show those in the waiting room and see how many stay for procedure, well that request was refused as well.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you, it should never happen to anyone. Just a suggestion--consult a reputable plastic surgeon specifically for his opinion of the outcome of your surgery. A formal consultation usually costs about $100. Ask him to formally write up his evaluation and recommendations and send a copy it to your LSL surgeon as well as to you. The reputable surgeon will likely refer you back to your LSL surgeon, BUT he will also mention his concerns and his recommendations regarding your treatment (be sure to ask him to spell these out in his evaluation. Then, even though the LSL officde will already have received a copy of his evaluation, go into their office with a copy of it in your hand and BE LOUD. Make it clear, loud and clear, that you saw reputable Dr. X in your area for an evaluation regarding your concerns about the LSL surgery, and that Dr. X said that... ..and that you are very angry LSL repeatedly neglected concerns which Dr. X himself expressed... You get the picture. Let your anger show--don't be a timid woman because that's what LSL expects you to be, because that's the way most women react--they stay low key and silent. Speak loudly in LSL's office. Tell them angrily what Dr. X told you--let other potential patients hear you. Say very loudly that you intend to voice your concerns to your state's board of medical ethics and to the AMA (...and be sure to follow through with this, BTW. Do voice your concerns, and send your photos, to your state's board of medical ethics and the AMA. There's strength in numbers). LSL counts on women to act like women and stay silent. Let them know you have no intention of staying silent.

Thank God for you ladies who have commented above! I saw the advertisement today for the first time and was interested. I called and couldn't get one bit of pertinent info like what the procedure involved or the cost. The woman on the phone tried and tried to get me to make an appointment, but I explained to her that I would have to drive 5 hours each way and would not do that if she wouldn't give me any info. She promised to e-mail info, but never did. I am so sorry for those of you who have had this surgery and I agree that you should sue the hell out of anyone who maimed you. I have had experience with plastic surgery (traditional) in the past, and I will stick to that.

To all of you with bad results, I am sad for you & very sorry . For those who decided not to do it, I say' Get facts straight with any Dr. before a surgery, especially on your face. I am a 3 yr. post LSL patient, who was scarred, in chronic pain, never got a call back from the doctor who was on medical probation when hired by LSL. Altho their website then, claimed 'our doctors are handpicked' and are the 'best of the best plastic surgeons'.. If that's the best, that's frightening. When considering anything done to your face, please consult a ' board certified facial plastic surgeon'. Even if you can't afford that DR, at least educate yourselves on the right things to ask& expect. Check up on your Doc for any past malpractice suits or board certification& whether he/she is in good standing with their medical licenses. I didn't have the tools to know this, just believed my Dr was a plastic surgeon, the 'best of the best', hand picked because of their talent. I found out all this the hard way, almost a yr after the LSL. I called every state the Dr had ever worked in^& almost everyday, I learned something new. Also, do not believe what you read. Trust the specialty boards, they watch & record the doctors medical licenses & complaints in every state they work in. The American Board of Plastic Surgery< The osteopathic board to verify Plastic surgery certification. Remember, there are M.D's & D.O.'s...Call your state's medical license Dept & ask about your choice in doctors. Don't fall for heavy sales pitches& always meet with your doctor.Something one center trys to avoid if possible.. Good Luck!
