“My lifestyle lift nightmare”

Lifestyle lift: NOT worth it

Cost: $7,400
Pain: Severe
Lifestyle lift satisfaction: Poor1 Star Rating: Poor
I do not recommend my Lifestyle lift provider: Sign in or join to view provider name
Why: Totally bad job. and.. cash, as in dollar bills changed hands right in operating room.

The office in Manhattan never was on time for any appointments, ,they just jammed people in there with no respect and no regard for their time. no apologies.

I chose the Lifestyle lift because they convinced me I was a good candidate and that it was 'safer'
No one noticed my 'facelift' except for my unbelievable scars. My friend who had a facelift, the traditional type the same month, has undetectable scars. The lifestyle lift doctor didn't make any attempts to hide them as I requested.

as for the extent of the proceedure, I needed more and they were not honest with me. I felt they'd accept anyone who had money in their hand.I was beyond disappointed with this 'result'

It was a total waste of money, and I am too traumatized to have my facelift redone, even though my friends were so upset they have offered to PAY FOR IT with a reputable plastic surgeon.

To turn this nasty, disappointing situation into a virtual nightmare, The eye lift was a disaster.
you ruined my eyes. I have been to numerous doctors since, to try to recover my pleasing almond shaped eyes.. which are now smaller, and round.

I have been told over and over that they 'took too much skin" and no one can help me. I also have a lump under my eye that I never had before.

after the surgery I developed ectopia , a dangerous , and disfiguring condition..with my eye almost hanging out.. and had to go on steroids and massage my poor eyes.to avoid a corrective surgery

I should have started a lawsuit.

I was so upset with my eyes which now seem more light sensitive, that I found myself wearing sunglasses all the time. I am told that this is why I subsequently had a fall ( In a dimly lit area) ...which resulted in an injury which caused pain for a year.. and has now required surgery and hospital time, and I am now in Europe recovering.

I think your proceedure is good for a tiny fragment of the population
and is an ancient technique, ..the one the did BEFORE the current, more logical full facelift. You tout this as a new proceedure. and you should be ashamed. Very very ashamed.

Updated on Feb 24, 2009:

I had my lifestyle Lift done in 2006.  My review is posted under the title"My Lifestyle Lift nightmare. ."   I can not believe these positive posts.. since I have received numerous emails from women who have had their lives ruined.  I feel these positive ones are plants. I also can not believe women are still opting for this archaic procedure..  this temporary facelift is the most expensive thing you can do ..seeing as it ..AT BEST provides a freshening up, which is 1000 % calculated to fail as gravity takes its natural toll.  And you'd have to do it again.  does this make it a good buy ? I don't think so.  especially since the procedure itself  can be so disgusting.  you wouldn't want to do it again.

My update is now written in Feb 2009.  I still have numbness.. and my eyes are sensitive. I have developed , immediately following.. and continuing...something called dry eye.

My scars are still visible. .although the "lift " is not, actually never was.   I have not had success with my lawsuit..  lawyers are reluctant..  maybe if there was more money involved.. but $ 7400 was a lot to me.. especially in retrospect, as my friend spent $ 10,500 for a wonderful, perfect eye and face lift. with  masterfully hidden scars.   If I had read these posts beforehand...   I would have RUN the opposite way.  These posts only began around the time I had the surgery.

Hi Cleopatra: It's too late for me. I did it on May 17th, 2008 on Long Island and today is June 16th. I wish I had known about this site before but I didnt. Anyway, I am not very happy. The numbness and discomfort is still there, all around the ears, in front and back and especially the ears. Can't wear baseball cap or sunglasses yet. Under my chin, still very numb - and pulling sensation...like rubber bands are holding it up. Stitches where they did lipo - about one and one half inch long...maybe two inch scar. My eyes - so very dry and sticky feeling all the time. My vision is not the same as before either...blurry all the time. My face - not much different than before the procedure. I still have deep lines on the sides of my mouth. Thanks for emailing me and telling me to go to a professional - guess you didnt see my email that I posted on or about May 27th. Anyway, I dont know you but I love you for caring.

I would like to hear from anyone who had a procedure done at the Beverly Hills, calif. office. I did and was not told that I need additional neck procedure to enhance my lifestyle lift. I have been back to see them and they want to only pay for 1/2 of the neck procedure and I have to undergo a second surgery including the risks involved. I am totally devastated after many years of a "turkey neck" and the promise that the LL would take care of it not that I needed additional procedures. If you have had any problems pls contace me thanks

Ladies, My heart goes out to each and everyone of you. While reading all of the emotional as well as physical pain you all have had to endure I have actually started crying. You see I am due to have a traditional lower face lift in a hospital with a well qualified surgeon, under general anthesia( I've checked out all of his credentials) the total cost for everything is going to be $10,000. I want to THANK YOU all for probably saving my life. I was considering cancelling with the above surgeon once I saw the LSL commercials. This morning I decided to check out If any complaints were found on the internet against LSL. Thank you Jesus that I did! I will remain scheduled as planned with my credible surgeon. Ladies I will keep you all in my prayers. And prayerfully you all will be successful with any lawsuits filed against LSL. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU!

yes, I would join a class action law suit if I knew that one was pending. Is anyone suing? Let me know.

My scars are terrible. I have daily pain. My checks are black and purple. My neck is still the same. I regret the day that I thought this quick fix would make me feel better about myself. I feel ugly now and I have a hard time looking in the mirror. It's been two years of hell.

I got to ask if anyone else took a video of their faces after the procedure as I did. Please contact me at my email if you did. Thank you

Hi Barbara, As far as I know we don't have any Lifestyle Lift video reviews on RealSelf. Would you mind sharing your video with us? Just include the web address to the video (YouTube or similar) in the review and we'll make sure it gets added. Thanks! --Sharon
