“The life-style lift recovery is longer than they tell you”
Lifestyle lift: NOT worth it
Pain: Severe
I had my LifeStyle Lift done On July 12, 2006. I had the bags removed from under my eyes as well as the lift. It would be better if they told you that most people will need some time to recover. There was no way I could go out in public for about 2 weeks. My eyes were black and swollen. My whole face was swollen. I still have a lot of discomfort especially on the back of my ears. My right side was more of a problem than the left. It is still swollen.
The scars on the back of the ears are pretty awful. They tell you afterwards that it might take up to a year to completely heal. This should be told up front. A tech took out the stitches and did have bleeding after this was done. My left ear had drainage for about two weeks. I did have to have my right ear aspirated 3 times because of fluid build up. Am not convinced that the office help really have medical training. In fact they gave me the opposite information over the phone. I had called about the severe swelling, it was fluid, but they told me that as long as it was hard, not to worry. They should have told me to come in as hardness is a sign of fluid build-up.
The after care needs some attention. As I said, I still am having trouble sleeping or even having the phone on my ear. The least amount of pressure causes much discomfort. This may all be pretty standard, but their ads lead you to believe that you can resume normal activities in a short period of time. I think it would be much better if they told you the truth. Am I happy that I had it done; can't say for sure. Still have swelling under my eyes and most of the swelling has gone down on my face (not behind the ears). Friends tell me that I do look better than I did.
If I had known that the recovery time would be this long, sure wouldn't have had it done in the summer. Would have waited until January when there are fewer activities. (I live in Indiana). Am a golfer and have only been able to go out a couple of times. Honesty is always the best policy. I had the procedure done in Schaumburg, IL. Unfortunately, after the procedure, I found that the Dr. who performed the procedure is on probation in Pennsylvania.

I had my neck and lower face done in Dallas, by Dr Ho on 5/13. I'm 12 days out and loving it. It was about as painful as going to the dentist, maybe less since I went to sleep during the procedure. The procedure took a little over 2 hrs. The incisions are in my ear and up the back crease of my ear. My scars are pink, but I'm using vitamin e oil and I think they'll go away. I can wear my hair up now. I just pull down a few wispys and you can't see the scars. I still have some brusing under my chin. I'm using the warn compresses and hope it's gone by this Thursday, since I have to go back to work. I will continue sleeping with my head elevated and wear the chin strap for the next 2 weeks per the clinic instructions. I'm happy with my results. And I almost backed out from reading the negative reviews from this site. But Consider this, LSL does about 40 to 50 lifts a week. each clinic. and there is quite a few clinics. You will always hear more about the bad than the good. Think about it. And not everyone blogs. I ask several other women in the office if they had read any LSL reviews and they said no. I felt very comfortable because I had met and also talked to some women who had the LSL and they were happy and said they'd do it again. I spoke with one woman who encouraged me not to have it done, but she also admitted to smoking. Maybe there were other things she didn't do. I saw a woman the morning of my procedure who was flipped out over the swelling and fluid build up. But she took her bandages off after the procedure because it was uncomfortable. She may have more scarring because of this. I don't know. Anyway whatever you decide. Do research on your Dr. ask questions and ask to speak with someone who has had the LSL. Then make a decision.

Has anyone had a procedure in the Houston area? I went for a consulatation and everyone seemed very professional. The doctors were all Board Certified according to the information that I was given. Please let me know if anyone has had a procedure at the Houston office.

This website has been really helpful. I too have been watching those great ads on T.V. and had wanted to check into it. About that time a friend of mine had the neck procedure done. She said it would be awhile before she would let anyone see her. After a month she finally relented. It was terrible. Her neck had been drawn up on one side where it looked like someone had actually gathered up her skin. Her eyesight isn't good and I didn't want her to feel bad so I didn't say anything to her. She said she had a lot of pain still...and the doctor who did the procedure had been fired. I called their office to maybe find out more about it. I asked them what their address was. The man wouldn't tell me. He said I had to make an appointment before he would tell me. I told him that sounded very shady. I mean, when can't a business tell you their address?? Anyway, I am pretty disappointed because I wanted to think there was a great procedure out there that would take care of the jowels. Anyone know of a more reputable company?

I totally agree with all of you about the thing you aren't told about Life Style Lift. I too had lipo under my chin, I had so many problems with fluid build up, I went to a private surgeon for a second opinion, I was told the doctor at Life Style Lift took out too much fat the the skin did not adhere back right. It looks worse now than before I had the procedure. The after care is hidious!! They treat you like cattle, bring you in throught the back door - so no one in the front will see what you really look like after the procedure! Don't waste your money - its just a cheap procedure and the results are cheap as well!

For the person from Albuquerque, I went for the free consultation and will be having the procedure done next year after I get my tax refund. The Albuquerque office has the distinction of being named the best Lifstyle Lift office in the country, out of all the LSL offices. Best doctors, best procedures, best everything. So I am confident things will work out. Michelle gave me the free consultation and she has had the lift herself and looks fabulous. The price is different for each person; so go for the free consultation and view the video presentation and then decide for yourself. They make it very easy for you and even give you a Financial Services option which is 0% interest. Plus they have a layaway option, which I am taking advantage of until I get my tax refund. Contact me at RoseMaybud@aol.com and I will let you know how it turned out.
