“The life-style lift recovery is longer than they tell you”

Lifestyle lift: NOT worth it

Cost: $5,060
Pain: Severe
Lifestyle lift satisfaction: Poor1 Star Rating: Poor

I had my LifeStyle Lift done On July 12, 2006. I had the bags removed from under my eyes as well as the lift. It would be better if they told you that most people will need some time to recover. There was no way I could go out in public for about 2 weeks. My eyes were black and swollen. My whole face was swollen. I still have a lot of discomfort especially on the back of my ears. My right side was more of a problem than the left. It is still swollen.

The scars on the back of the ears are pretty awful. They tell you afterwards that it might take up to a year to completely heal. This should be told up front. A tech took out the stitches and did have bleeding after this was done. My left ear had drainage for about two weeks. I did have to have my right ear aspirated 3 times because of fluid build up. Am not convinced that the office help really have medical training. In fact they gave me the opposite information over the phone. I had called about the severe swelling, it was fluid, but they told me that as long as it was hard, not to worry. They should have told me to come in as hardness is a sign of fluid build-up.

The after care needs some attention. As I said, I still am having trouble sleeping or even having the phone on my ear. The least amount of pressure causes much discomfort. This may all be pretty standard, but their ads lead you to believe that you can resume normal activities in a short period of time. I think it would be much better if they told you the truth. Am I happy that I had it done; can't say for sure. Still have swelling under my eyes and most of the swelling has gone down on my face (not behind the ears). Friends tell me that I do look better than I did.

If I had known that the recovery time would be this long, sure wouldn't have had it done in the summer. Would have waited until January when there are fewer activities. (I live in Indiana). Am a golfer and have only been able to go out a couple of times. Honesty is always the best policy. I had the procedure done in Schaumburg, IL. Unfortunately, after the procedure, I found that the Dr. who performed the procedure is on probation in Pennsylvania.

I do not want to run in and out like a slaughter house. So I have decided if I want something done go to a REAL surgeon and let them do it. Thank all of you for the warning and what i don't understand you cancel your appontiment and they keep calling back and I have told them over and over that I am not coming there that they need to look on the internet and look what people are really saying about them, they laughed it off and said you can not beleive anything they said on here,I say well after reading all the testmontels ,I do not think people would get on here and right what they went threw if it was'nt true. I had a life style lift in may of 2006 and I wish I had left my face alone. I had lipo on my neck and since Didn't have a lot of lose skin around my neck there was very little cutting but the pain afterwards and the scars that I am left with are not worth the all the suffering I still have. like lost of the others I have pain behind my ears and scars that are underneath my ear lobs so that I can not wear my hair even behind my ears I very self conscious have problems sleeping because of the pain and Ialso have heat sensations and feeling like I have weights hanging from my ears. I'm only 53 I wish I would have seen this before. I dont recommend this to anyone. they make it seem like your in and out with very little pain and the results are amazing but its not true. I had my life style done in wesbury long Island I hope this helps anyone who is thinking of doing this. Don't

I guess you should be awful scared after reading this! Don't know who your doctor is but I would say you have probably at best a 50/50 chance of a good outcome. One thing that will last is your scars, the numbness, any your regret. I saw my jowls return within 2 months. I also have different ears now and two pouches on each side of my face at the jawline that were not there before. I wished I would have gone to a plastic surgeon. It would have been more $ but surgery on your face is not where we should be trying to cut costs! Good luck to you.

I hope you haven't given them any money yet cause you will never get it back. You can try looking up the doctor on www.checkMD.com to see if there is any info on him.

I had mine done in Dallas last July. I still have numbness by my ears and a black stitch just popped out of my ear yesterday!! My jowls were back in 2 months. They sewed my earlobes to my head and the scars are ok on one side but bad on the other. It was like 2 different people sewed me but there was only one DR in the room. I also now have on my face on each side by my jawline a pouch. Looks like I am storing nuts for winter. I never had those before the surgery. I am sure there are people out there who are happy with their procedure. It is a gamble. I wouldn't do it again I know that and neither will the majority of the people on this web site and others. I unfortunately didn't find these sites till it was too late or I wouldn't have done it either. You will have to fight tooth and nail to get your money back and may never get it back. When was the last time a DR asked you for a deposit on a medical procedure?? That right there should tell you something is not right! Keep me posted.

Am thinking of having the procedure but am concerned with the negatives. Has anyone used the office in Garden City New York? Any comments about that particular office? I have other problems i.e. disk problems in my neck and back as well as arthritis in my hands....am afraid to add more pain and discomfort into my life but hate my jowls and double chin. Would appreciate any advice especially in the New York/Long island region. Thanks
