“The life-style lift recovery is longer than they tell you”
Lifestyle lift: NOT worth it
Pain: Severe
I had my LifeStyle Lift done On July 12, 2006. I had the bags removed from under my eyes as well as the lift. It would be better if they told you that most people will need some time to recover. There was no way I could go out in public for about 2 weeks. My eyes were black and swollen. My whole face was swollen. I still have a lot of discomfort especially on the back of my ears. My right side was more of a problem than the left. It is still swollen.
The scars on the back of the ears are pretty awful. They tell you afterwards that it might take up to a year to completely heal. This should be told up front. A tech took out the stitches and did have bleeding after this was done. My left ear had drainage for about two weeks. I did have to have my right ear aspirated 3 times because of fluid build up. Am not convinced that the office help really have medical training. In fact they gave me the opposite information over the phone. I had called about the severe swelling, it was fluid, but they told me that as long as it was hard, not to worry. They should have told me to come in as hardness is a sign of fluid build-up.
The after care needs some attention. As I said, I still am having trouble sleeping or even having the phone on my ear. The least amount of pressure causes much discomfort. This may all be pretty standard, but their ads lead you to believe that you can resume normal activities in a short period of time. I think it would be much better if they told you the truth. Am I happy that I had it done; can't say for sure. Still have swelling under my eyes and most of the swelling has gone down on my face (not behind the ears). Friends tell me that I do look better than I did.
If I had known that the recovery time would be this long, sure wouldn't have had it done in the summer. Would have waited until January when there are fewer activities. (I live in Indiana). Am a golfer and have only been able to go out a couple of times. Honesty is always the best policy. I had the procedure done in Schaumburg, IL. Unfortunately, after the procedure, I found that the Dr. who performed the procedure is on probation in Pennsylvania.

I called the credit card company the same day. I was told I could dispute it when it was sent in. They had the approval and a 'hold' on the amount. The check? They must have driven right to the bank with it. I have no idea why it was so much for me. It was a hokey pokey con job. A lady who was in the waiting room with me told me hers was 7200.00 and she had more chins than a Chinese phone book! She even made a joke that mine should cost half of what hers was... It makes me sick to watch their commercials showing all the news stations interviews. It gave them validity. I am just thankful that I got out without the procedure! I will fight for the refund but the people who have horrible scars and pain will suffer forever! Does anyone else feel really STUPID for even believing what they were told? Boy I do..... ;(

I had my procedure done 11/18/08. $8500.00 Was not given enough locals and the pain under the eyes procedure was excruciating! I was coming right out of the chair. The Dr. that I had was rough I thought. Not gentle at all. His assistant was great though. I have a lot of bruising after 11 days, and I have what they call football neck. Was told now that it may take several months of healing time for all swelling to go away. I too thought that their advertisements were misleading, and thought it would be a much shorter time to recover. Don't really know if I am satisfied or not yet. Will have to wait for a complete recovery. Then I will know for sure. I would recommend for everyone to do their homework before leaping into it.

I am an ENT/Facial plastic surgeon in Florida and have looked into lifestyle lift. The procedures and surgeons are appropriate for this setting but I agree that this is not a "go to work the next day" type of procedure. I trained with MDs who used local and sedation as well as General Anesthesia, both have their risks/benefits, it depends on the patient and the cost. I see many comments on "not looking like anything has been done" but this is a delicate balance between looking refreshed or like Phyllis Diller. I don't know yet if I will go into a Lifestyle lift center or stay in private practice, but I will always try to do the best I can do for every patient. TALK TO THE DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE. BACK OUT IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE ANSWERS.

It was the Doctor who let me know the whole thing was misleading. I am very Thankful I had an honest Doctor because NO ONE ELSE that works for the Orlando location is honest! I did get my money back but only after threatening to bring all the news stations with me to speak to them about it. I hope the news stations they have used to promote this will all have a follow up on it. C~

Carolinagirl49, so glad we could save at least one person. Makes it worth our efforts. No way you could go back to work at least for 3 weeks to be honest. I had a black eye for at least a month and didn't even have anything done to my eyes! My jowls were back in weeks but the lipo under chin so far has held up. Go to a real plastic surgeon. You will be glad you did.

thinking about using the San Mateo office in California. Has anybody experienced the doctors there?
