Amazing Surgeon - Latham, NY

I wanted to get a breast augmentation and tummy...

I wanted to get a breast augmentation and tummy tuck, but agonized for years over whether it was something I should go through with or not. Would it look ok afterward? Would I have complications? Was it really worth it/a good idea, or should I just let it go?

I am still recovering from surgery, but so far am happy with the results. I was very concerned about scarring and am prone to scarring - amazingly, my tummy tuck and breast incisions are (for the most part) nearly indetectable at only a few weeks post-op - obviously your mileage may vary, but I am very pleased. My stomach is flat and I'm excited to see how it looks once the swelling goes down and I am completely healed. My breasts are the perfect size - he knew just what I wanted and they are proportionate, neither too big or too small, and settling well.

Pros and Cons for those considering having the surgery - I was very uncomfortable for the first two weeks post-op. Meaning, I was in a *lot* of pain. I had great medication to address this, but I still found it pretty unpleasant and scary. I have a low pain tolerance and have not had any other surgeries, so this may be unique to me, but I would say going into it be prepared to not enjoy your immediate recovery period. I don't think that this has anything to do with my surgeon, and just to do with how we each can deal with pain.

Despite the discomfort of the first few weeks, it was worth it for me. I can't wait to get back to the gym! For years, no matter how much I worked out, that six-pack was unattainable, but now it is in my reach. Thank you Dr DeLuca!

Great review?

I exhaustively researched plastic surgeons online and was willing to travel to NYC and Boston to get the best possible care. I assumed that I would find the most high-quality plastic surgeon in a major metropolitan area. After doing a lot of research online, I was surprised to find that the surgeon who appeared to be the very best, was right here in the capital region of upstate NY. Dr DeLuca is a true artist. When I look at his before and after photos, as compared to other surgeons, he doesn't just perform the surgery and put things where they should go. He really pays attention to detail and the best possible final result for his patients. He is incredibly professional and I think truly takes pride in his work and doing the very best for each of us. I am not surprised that people travel from far away to see him - if I ever needed or wanted anything done in the future I would not want to see anyone else. Dr DeLuca and his team have been very responsive every step of the way, the surgical secretary and the nurse were always available to answer all of my questions and help me to feel comfortable. The nurse, Brianne (I hope I am spelling that right) is especially awesome.

I'm sorry the recovery was tough, but glad you kept your eyes on the prize. We'd love to see your before and after photos to witness your transformation!

I'm having my surgery with him march 26th. Right now I'm going for breast augment and considering a mini tummy tuck, but like you I'm awful with pain and I have a very weak stomach and am very nervous. But very happy for you and your results. Please keep in contact with your recovery and wish you the best!

Hi! I'm glad my review was helpful for someone. As for the weak stomach, they gave me an anti-nausea patch at the surgery center that I wore for the first three days post-op. I didn't have any nausea or vomiting. I believe this is standard but if you don't get it at the time of surgery, just ask. Also if you have a low pain tolerance like me I would plan to try to have someone to help take care of you day and night for as long as possible post-surgery. I needed 24/7 help for a week and a half and day help for two and a half weeks. Again, your mileage may vary but it was so helpful and comforting to have someone taking care of me! I'm still doing well with no issues at 3 1/2 weeks post-op, let me know if you have any other questions. I know its scary (I was so nervous) but in the end I think you will be happy. Good luck!

How is your recovery going? I just had my pre-op yesterday with Dr Deluca and I have decided to add lipo and a mini tummy tuck as well. Are you in smaller clothes and feel like yourself yet? Hope all is still going well :)
