“Miracle surgery with a caveat”
Lasik: Worth it
Pain: Painfree
Figuring that I'd save money by getting rid of my glasses and improving my eyesight, I treated myself to Lasik surgery back in 2001. After considerable research, I opted for monovision, so one eye was corrected for distance and the other for near.
The surgery was easy, fast, painless and I was back on the computer within 12 hours. My extreme astigmatism was corrected and I was a happy camper for seven years. Around the sixth year the vision in my distance eye started deteriorating, probably due more to age than anything else.
Although I could have had the Lasik "tweaked" I decided to leave well enough alone and not risk over-correction problems. I'm back in progressive lenses (eye glasses) but I did love the seven years without them!

May I ask how old you were when you had this done?
