“It was better before”
Lasik: NOT worth it
Pain: Severe
My eyes were -5,25 and -5,75 before the lasik procedure, in 2004, but I could read without glasses. After the surgery they became like +6,00. I used "pilocarpina", a substance that forces your pupils to become small. After the 15-day treatment, my eyes reached +1,75, which never changed.
The other problem is that I had astigmatism (2,50) and it became worse (3,00). I have all sorts of high order aberrations. Doctor told me his machine was not properly calibrated and he would operate me again for free - but how could I trust him again??? Now I can't see well either with or without glasses.
My new state led me to depression and severe acne at age 31, which left ugly scars in my face.
Pain: ouch, for 24 hours I was barely able to open my eyes,ad I had tears falling all the time. For weeks I couldn't open my eyes when I went out at night - the car lights were very painful to me.
