9 days post op

Feeling pretty good 9 days out. I'm still really taking it easy though, and still on pain meds. Im thinking that the muscle relaxer actually helps more then the pain meds. Slept through the night last night, with out waking up in pain and wanting meds. The BA is by far a the easier surgery of the two. And the places where lipo was done are extremely sore! I was only sore from the BA for the first few days. They are still quite high and swollen, however. I'm still sleeping in a recliner every night, but no longer using the walker. FYI- my doctor said that in all her years doing plastic surgery, she has never had anyone need a walker! So I don't know what's wrong with me! :/ oh well!
I came very close to passing out in the shower last night while I was trying to get the tape off my incisions. That was not very fun. They bled a little and some of the tape was really stuck to the incision. I did get my drains out though! That was a huge relief! I ended up getting thrush from the antibiotic I'm on, so now im taking meds for that too. Lots of meds I feel like! Good thing my mom is still here keeping it all straight for me. The constipation has been an issue as well. I had to do an Enema last night, and that has helped some. I'll probably need to do another in a few days. I also got another migraine yesterday morning and was throwing up again. Excruciating!!! My recovery does not seem to be going as well as most people's. So I hope I'm not scaring anybody! Maybe I should quit updating?!;) Just remember that everyone's experience is going to be different. Even though mine has not been great, I don't regret doing it. Also, I do have Fibromyalgia, so maybe that has something to do with it. Who knows! Good luck to you all!

4 days post op

I made it through surgery and am recovering at home. My mom is staying with us to help take care of me, and she has been amazing! I am way my incapacitated then I thought I'd be. The pain is worse then I expected, in fact I ended up having to spend 2 nights in the hospital instead of just one. They were having a hard time getting my pain under control and I wasn't yet able to get up and walk on my own. I kept getting dizzy and nauseated every time I tried to stand up. I got a migraine the first day post op and ended up throwing up, which is the LAST thing you want to be doing after you've just had an abdominal surgery. It was excruciating! I felt like I was being cut in half with a chainsaw. Between not being able to use my abdominal muscles and not being able to use arm strength (extremely sore pctoralis muscles) I literaly could not do anything by myself the first few days. I'm starting to get around a bit easier now on the 4 th day. Still using a walker and sleeping in a recliner. I don't know how I would have managed without those two things.
My implants seem quite large, I'm hoping they'll go down some more. They are hard and up high on my chest. My tummy seems pretty good. I'm a bit confused about my belly button though. It looks like I have two bb's and I'm not sure why? I've also had a reaction to the tape on my lower back or maybe it's bedsores, not sure, but that's not very pleasant either. I tried to take a shower today...my poor mom ended up as wet as I was! Bless her heart. My daughter asked me today if I thought it was worth it, I told her to ask me again in a week.:/

This is happening...

Two days pre op. Can't believe its already here! Freezer is full of dinners and picked up all prescriptions. I think I'm ready!

My Dr. Is amazing! The staff is wonderful too. I don't feel like I'm just another patient. Dr. Burgess seems to really care about her patients.
