Facial Paralysis and uneven skin by the handwork of Dr. Steven J. Smith in Knoxville, TN.
Dr. Steven J, Smith did an upper lip lift on me...
Provider Review
Dr. Steven J, Smith did an upper lip lift on me April 6th. My right lip was higher "still is" than my left therefore I asked him to even it out. Just so you know the type of person you'd be dealing with post op. It will be a constant his word against yours. I mentioned it to him on 5/26. I continue to visit him because he also damaged a nerve on the left side of my face on the same day, different procedure. The first thing he said was, "That side was higher to begin with" I said, "Yes and you agreed to even it out." then he said, "The skin is symmetrical but you have more filler on the right side of your lip than you do on the left side and because you have so much going on we can't put in filler on the left side yet."...Can you already envision his pattern?.. I have too much going on, on the left side meaning "Nerve damage" To be fair the filler part is correct but regardless of how much filler I get on the left side it's NOT going to move upwards, it's going to move it outwards. He has a staff member that has had lip filler and it is severely outwards so I believe she'd understand....Basing it off of a FACT the left side is .25 cm. longer than the right side of the lip but again it will always be his word against yours. Any physician with integrity would measure it, say, "You are right, please allow me to fix it." Instead I'm forced to prove him wrong on the side lines. You may ask, "Why am I not complaining about the right side?" Because HE PERFECTED THE RIGHT SIDE! He demolished the left side from paralysis to uneven skin. Also the internal dissolvable sutures on the left side are coming out to the surface of the skin. I posted a picture of the dissolvable suture. The skin cannot completely seal because of that suture poking out. It has a knot under the skin so until it gets red, infected and more inflamed as the knot reaches the surface I can't do anything about it. This is the third one. I really can't explain why they're coming out besides it's possibly due to the nerve damage. I've not had a single dissolvable suture come out on the right side. The left side of my lip is numb too. Look at my picture and anybody with common knowledge, tell me if it's even on both sides? Keep in mind that my upper lip gears to the right side due to paralysis of the nerve damage. Also he didn't do any drawings on my face prior to surgery. So what does he go by with a dead beat patient lying on the table under anesthesia?!
