Here are some photos from December after my third procedure. Since then I have had one more but it is still healing and not ready for prime time.

I hated my body and myself after allowing doctors...

I hated my body and myself after allowing doctors to mutilate me after they said I had "breast cancer." I still have my doubts; this is standard practice in the medical industry for women over a certain age. I wish I'd had the courage to say, "NO!"
Dr. Khouri and his staff were my last resort and my only hope. The 400cc silicone implant in my body had no feeling, it was cold and hard. I hated it so much I wanted to cut it out myself! And yet, I was told by the plastic surgeon at MD Anderson and 6 other PS in the Orlando area that it was the only choice I had...????

After a highly unsatisfactory "reconstruction", I embarked on a research quest to find an alternative to reclaim my body and my life. Dr. Khouri and his staff were my final hope. He is a genius, a pioneer and an artist. Most importantly, he is a caring and compassionate human being who does not treat older women like used up commodities. He sees value in the quality of their lives (as opposed to traditional medical practitioners in our culture). Unfortunately, he is not a miracle worker. It has been a long, arduous and financially depleting struggle. I am not the beautiful woman I was 3,years ago and I never will be. It is too late. But at least my breast is my own now, it is soft and warm, not like the inanimate, man-made foreign object they shoved in my chest and told me to go away and be happy with it. NOT!!! I only wish I had known about Dr. Khouri at the outset of this traumatic ordeal. He would have taken much better care of me from the beginning. However, I was blissfully ignorant of all this and everything happened so fast. I had no support or guidance from family or friends, I was totally on my own. I was given NO other choice. I had to make a decision but it was no decision at all. Women need to know that there are alternates; they do not have to accept the conventional "wisdom." You have the right to say, "No, I want something better." Dr. Khouri is that alternative the choose if you want your real body back. It is too late for me but don't let yourself be talked out of it. Keep an open mind and your eye on the end result. You will be glad you did in the long run and not have to suffer the pain, heartache and hardship that I did. You will have a better outcome and quality of life as opposed to mere quantity of life, which is meaningless.
