“Fraxel: Restore - Kentucky”
Spent: $5,000 in Kentucky
Posted 20 Jan 2011
After researching several treatments for mild acne rolling scars, I decided to go with Fraxel: Restore. I chose the best, most competent plastic surgeon in my city. During the consultation with my doctor, I was veered away from other treatment options and was shown photographs of patients with stunning results. I was excited and told that the procedure would not remove all the scarring, but would greatly improve the texture of my skin. For 4-5 months following the procedure, this was true and my scars were not visible. I was thrilled with the result and even recommended Fraxel to some of my friends. However, the swelling, although not pronounced at 4-5 months, is still hiding your scars. I am 2 years post-op now and, in all honesty, my skin is back to where it was prior to the surgery. I feel a little conned out of money because, looking back, I'm sure the before/after photographs I was shown were all within 2-3 months after the procedure. The patients were still swollen and the results look dramatic at this phase. Please look for other options. I really believed Fraxel would help my scarring, but I'm just out 5 grand.

Hi Louisville68,
Welcome to the Fraxel community. That's no fun that two years later you don't really see a change, I'm sorry about that. Have you been back and asked your doctor about it? Please keep us updated and thanks so much for the review.
Thanks,
-Britt
