I had a right deviated septum, tip revision, and a slight bump which were both corrected last July. I think I had a cast which was removed at Day 1 or 2? When it came off my nose looked amazing (other than the bruising, pain, bleeding, etc that followed)... well I let the "natural swelling" run its course.... By day 4 or 5 I looked like shrek. I should not have focused on the temporary bleeding, pain, and having to breathe out of my mouth, but rather the consequences of swelling. I wish I would have been taking an oral anti-inflammatory or something even just high dose ibuprofen! I trusted my surgeon's advice that swelling would eventually resolve. In December (5 months after my rhinoplasty) I had a steroid injection, which I had read about online and brought to the attention of my surgeon. My nose looked awesome a few days after the injection.. but within 2 weeks the swelling returned. I am scheduled for another injection this week and will discuss corrective surgery with him if this does not resolve my issue. I don't think surgeons take enough caution to warn patients about the long term swelling. If I do get corrective surgery, I don't care how much pain I am in I will tape my nose to cut off all blood flow to the darn thing to prevent inflammation and scarring. I've been editing all my photos on a website called luna pic to decrease the size of my nose before posting them to facebook these last few months because it's huge! and I feel so helpless
Great review?

The doctor is a great guy, but he needs to counsel on swelling.
I'm sorry you've experienced so much swelling! That's a long time to still be so puffy. Though I can say from experience that your nose still goes down for up to a year (and sometimes longer). You might want to post a question with photos (very important!) to the doctors in the Q&A community to get their input on your situation.
