Had surgery 6 days ago, and feel relatively minimum to no pain now. Very difficulty to fall asleep on back (since I'm a side sleeper).

Did breast augmentation to enhance self image after having 2 kids and breast fed both.

Sleeping on the side within a week of surgery will dislocate my implants?

When you sleep on your side, do you tend to roll over onto your chest somewhat? I'm also wondering whether your surgeon's office provided you with a list of do's and don'ts...? If you can work it out that sleeping on your side doesn't translate to sleeping on your chest, then you should be fine. Thing is, once asleep, most of us just do what comes naturally. If you're desperate for a good night's sleep, then a snug but otherwise good-fitting bra should be worn to help support the implant placement/position. Stay away from underwires if your incisions were in the breast folds.

The office did provide a one page instruction of what to do and what not to do. They also stated that I need to sleep on my back but did not say for how long. The implant seems to be okay in the front so far. Thank you so much for your replies.

Before you commit yourself to a night of sleeping how you prefer to sleep, try laying in that position to see if there is any tenderness whatsoever. Again, it would be ideal if you could wear a decent bra when you sleep. If you have any questions or concerns, you should definitely not feel shy about contacting your surgeon's office. It's important to get a good sleep (a poor night's sleep can impact short-term memory as well as making good decisions), so let them know about this. You might be far enough along to sleep on your side now, but you also don't want to mess up your surgeon's good work, if in fact that's at risk here. Make the call, but get that pillow ready. :-)
