Three Sessions - All Wonderful

Worth It
Spent: $475 in Ellicott City, MD

I have had other fillers, including collagen, and another Hyalronic Acid filler. Based on my three sessions over almost two years, I feel Juvederm is simply superior for my concerns - mainly deep wrinkles. I've never tried it as a plumper, or in the nasal folds, as so many others seem to use it; so I cannot speak to that. The way my doctor administers it is significantly less comfortable that collagen; that's because he (I think correctly) feels that the numbing agent most inject first can cause swelling that makes it harder to treat my sort of problems. At the same time, one syringe stretches a long way, and definitely seemed to produce better, and far more long-lasting results. I've had absolutely no negative effects, even for the short term.

My Doctor: Name not provided

He is able to make subtle but very helpful adjustments, and is very knowledgeable of the health aspects.

I'm glad for your remarks and correct explanations and experiences. I wonder though the issue of "one syringe stretches a long way", is very miss leading. Even the Juvederm brochure suggests 2 syringes are better and give MUCH longer lasting results, due to more volume of product (HA's) injected. Please consider others who read these postings may think only 1 syringe is enough. I have found my patient experience a better and more longer lasting results from 2 syringes injected. Just MY experience. Regards and Happy for you.

As I said, I wasn't treating NL folds, which I imagine could take more product; in fact, my surgeon mentioned that many are happier with the results of two per session, but always allowed me to judge the effect of one, and return or continue within that session. However, given that my concerns were more scattered, and perhaps more superficial, I far prefer to have the cumulative subtle benefit of overlapping sessions of one at a time that have reached the goal I had. What's the old expression? - Your mileage may vary?

Glad you are happy with your results but exactly what deep wrinkle areas are you talking about and is this juverderm ultra or plus or what?

I didn't know there was a difference, as my surgeon didn't mention "ultra" or "plus" - what is the difference? The main areas treated were outside the NL folds - not sure how to describe it, except as an outer pair of parentheses? Then he also treated some transverse lines in my forehead, as well as a few depressions from old acne scars. It seems to "inflate" a little extra the next day, so that's my favorite thing about it - plus very little redness, and easily covered with makeup. It sounds like you may know a lot about this, so what would you recommend for my needs? Thanks in advance.

Oh no I don't know alot about it-I have only had Juvederm Ultra one time-two to treat NL folds. My understanding between the different Juvs is how pliable it is. Sounds like you are happy so just go with that-but, I would ask exactly what you are getting and keep track at home so you have your own records. :)
