The first time that I had my lips done I thought that I was going to grow webbed feet as when I looked into the mirrow in horror, I saw a duck!!! I thought my worst enemy (didn't think I had any) had made a voo-doo doll and wished this on me. It was horrible. The pain was excrutiating. Keep reading...the second time around (yes, I was convinced to do this again with another tech at another location) and it was fabulous and almost pain free!!! The first time was with Restylane and the second time I had Ultra Juvederm. I don't think it's the product, they all feel the same, but I know for me I had less Juvederm and it has lasted almost 7 months as of today. You don't need more than a 1/2 CC for most lips...this is my perception. I think the first tech must have given me at least a full CC for my lips. Way too much. I'm sure everybody is different but I'm wondering if they get commision on how much they sell?

I have had Juvederm injected in my lips twice now. I absolutely love it. And it is all about your injector. If you live in Washington State, I more than highly recommend you visit Bella Tu which is a medical spa in Woodinville, WA. Jean Trost R.N.,B.S.N. has been voted one of the top injectors. They and Juvederm have done wonders for me. I am 47 and no one can tell. Everyone guesses my age between 32 and 35.

Does anyone know how to contact anyone from Jean Trost's office? Or if Bella Tu has a new building and number? My mother and I have two to three gift certificates to this facility, and now they have disappeared. This is so upsetting, we basically purchased about $200 worth of Bella Tu paper that says gift certificate, and will get nothing for it. The business is completely gone, and I can't find anyway to get a refund?....Help!

Injecting lips is a real art. The most important issue is making sure that you and your doctor agree on what the goal is. Some of my clients really want very large full lips that I think would be too big...others want just a little shaping of their lips. As far as the pain, that is very much dependent on the skill of the injector. I use a custom made topical anesthetic that makes the surface of the lips very numb. I also mix local anesthetic into the filler so that the area becomes even more numb as I inject. Most of my clients rate the pain as a 1 or 2 out of 10. Dental blocks work quite well, but they are a bit more complicated and take longer to work than the technique I use. Mixing the local anesthetic into the product has not effected the longevity of the results at all. In the next few years, you will see that most of the fillers will be made with the local anesthetic already mixed into the filler. To find a good injector in your area, you are going to have to ask around. A lot of doctors that do the injections will give you a free consultation...that is a great time to ask them what they do to minimize the pain. If they say that they don't do anything to minimize the pain, keep shopping! Michael Sinclair, MD

Anyone recommend anyone good in the New Orleans metro area for Juve around the eyes? i had a most depressing disaster with Dr. K in Metairie who took my youthful face that I was just trying to refresh by filling in hollows under my eyes, and gave me hard bags that add about 10-15 years to me! People used to tell me how beautiful they thought I was, and now I feel like a freak. I can't believe he made me look like I am in dire need of a lower blepharoplasty. Why would a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon do this to me?? Any hints anybody can offer me would be greatly appreciated. As it is, I do not want to be seen by anyone! I just want to lock myself in my room until this stuff wears off, which i understand is 12 months. PLEASE make sure you see the handiwork of anyone who messes with your face. Ask for before and after photos. HELP!

update! I had Juvederm under my eyes by a plastic surgeon in Metairie LA in March 2008. BIG MISTAKE! i would recommend NOT using a PS for this. He quoted me $550 for a syringe under my eyes, but the receptioninst charged me $750, 'cause she said it is $200 extra for his "expertise" under the eyes. what a rip off! anyway, i had to suffer with huge bags and ridges under my eyes. i complained two weeks later, and he said to leave it there, that it would work itself out, and they said I would "love it" once it finally settled down. Well, finally after five months of hiding my face, wearing sunglasses when i did not have to, getting looks from people like I was looking rather old, i could not take it anymore! so i searched and found a wonderful renowned dermatologist who is on several boards for injectable fillers since their inceptions and also trains physicians of how to inject fillers properly. Her name is {edited} of New Orleans. So she took one look at me and said I needed to have some hyalorindase injected under each eye. She also used me as a case study of what NOT to do, and said she has to undo what other doctors did all the time. She injected 10 ul under my left eye and 3 ul under my right eye and i could not believe how incredible i looked almost immediately!!! guys are approaching me and talking to me again. I do not feel the need to wear sunglasses for no reason just to hide my eyes. I feel confident to stand under a light source and know that I do not have any more hideous bags. It is such a liberating feeling! From now on, I am only seeing to {edited} for any more injectables!

Hi Help, So sorry to hear that. :( If they've filed for bankruptcy, I believe you can submit a claim as an unsecured creditor. IIRC, this bankruptcy information is made public somewhere, but I'm not sure where. You could contact your state attorney general's office and they might be able to advise you. Good luck! --Sharon
