6 weeks today!!

So today is my 6 weeks post-op mark. I woke up yesterday in a bit of discomfort and had a lot of swelling, so last night and today I wore my regular binder and put some shape wear on over it for the extra support. Unfortunately today I am still really swollen all above my incision. I have been slowly increasing my physical activity. I'll be heading back into the gym in 2 weeks to start running again. Until then I'm just dancing around the house, doing some squats, just trying to get my activity level back to normal. I still have my little white spots on my left side and about a scab a half of an inch long. At this point I'm just trying to be patient and let things heal on their own. Over all I think things are looking fantastic, I just cant wait to see what my final results are after all this swelling!!!! In one month I am heading to Greece for a vaca with my hubby. Now I have promised myself that I would not buy any new clothes until after we went to Greece. I just want to wait until my body calms down before I spend money on new clothes. But I did cheat and buy a tight little black dress that was on sale. I tried it on once with my binder and already it looks amazing, I can't wait to surprise my husband with it in Greece! Lets hope that in one month my swelling will be down enough that I won't need my binder and I can rock this dress.

Three weeks out

So, three weeks out. At this point I am feeling almost back to normal.... If I push myself to hard I can feel it, but as long as I don't do anything too physically strenuous my body is happy with me. I have a pic here of the incision and some views of my new tummy. Everything seems to be healing ok, except for maybe my left side. I'm a little concerned there. I have some white spots. I was worried at first that it was infection, but now I'm pretty sure it is just a healing differently. I'm still pretty swollen, but I'm getting a good idea of what my final results will be. At this point I am still wearing my binder 24/7 it only comes off for showers.

One week

This is a photo one week after surgery, just a day or two before I had my drains removed. I was actually doing really well. I was up and walking around the same day as my procedure (at almost a 90 degree angle) The first few days were a little painful, but mostly frustrating because I am used to being much more active and independent than I was able to be. Right after this picture was taken my husband and I went for some sight seeing in Istanbul. I didn't last more than a few hours, but I was happy to make it out at all. I was worried I would not get to see the city while I was there.
