Worth It
Spent: $350 in Lake Worth, Fl

I had malasma and hyperpigmentation due to pregnancy-- and was really embarassed. I could not leave the house without a ton of make-up, and in south Florida, that's not too comfortable! A friend of mine had it done and sent me to the same skin care clinic. The procedure was slightly painful, but after a long labor and birth, it was comparitively not so bad. My face was tender for a day. After a few days, my skin turned dark and looked "dirty". Then is starts to peel. Within a week to 10 days, I had a new, clear, plump beautiful face. The only downer, is you are no longer allowed sun-exposure regardless of how incidental or minor for the rest of your life! In Florida, not such a realistic goal no matter how much sunscreen you put on! Great procedure if you can afford infinite upkeep or are just curious. Some spots have resurfaced, but I can't realistically keep going every 3-4 months, the recommended upkeep. Also, don't plan on being available to the public for at least a week from treatment! Plan any events accordingly!

I live in Florida and appreciate your input. I never wear sunscreen and didn't realize that you even have to use it just driving in the car. This is the first I heard of someone saying the spots resurfaced. Could you please share how many IPL tx you had and how long before that happened? Did you use sunscreen "religiously"? I went to a dermatologist yesterday for a minor skin cancer on my leg and she recommended 30 strength. Also, in my research, I'm finding out there appears to be hundreds of different types of IPL machines so I'm sure results have to do with that as well as the operator.
