“Invisalign”
Invisalign: Worth it
Cost: $5,800
Pain: Uncomfortable
Pain: Uncomfortable
Invisalign satisfaction: Good
I do not recommend my Invisalign provider: Name not provided
Why: Become very informed about Invisalign BEFORE starting so the dentist doesn't make decisions you don't agree with
Treatment going OK - learning too late that I didn't ask enough questions to start & was not included in OKing the ClinCheck. In fact - had I seen it (or known about it) before starting treatment, I would have said no and asked for refinements then.
So now I am ending up with gaps between front teeth, upper and lower. Going from overcrowding to spaces pisses me off. I am one-third into treatment and hope to have something done about it before ending treatment.

Hi! Just wondering, because I'm about to start the treatment (early process of it), but didn't the 3d animation showing the progress over the different trays show that you'd end up with gaps? Or is that the part the dentist didn't show you? Because my dentist told me that we'd review the whole process once he receives the 3d animation and see if it fits my needs/hopes, and that we can modify it a bit if needed. Also, I would appreciate if you could break down a small list of the questions you would ask your dentist if you started from scratch today? There might be questions I'm not thinking about! I appreciate!

I never saw any animation until after WEARING my trays for 4 months. I still don't know what my "contract" includes (how many refinements at the end of the 22/40 trays, if retainers are included, if so, which type) I would ask everything I know now! The above, what to look for during treatment - for example - one of my trays wasn't snapping on an attachment. They saw that on at least 2 visits. I didn't think much of it because they didn't say anything. But then they finally said - oh, you must not be wearing your trays 22 hours a day - and I have - I am SO FAITHFUL. So I had to 'backtrack' ... go back to the trays where it snapped into place. So I went from #13 back to 7!! Talk about PAINFUL. I blame them for not addressing it sooner. So ask what things you need to bring to their attention.

Don't know if this is the same situation...but my dentist purposely filed small gaps between some teeth to make room for the teeth to uncrowd. They were almost overlapped before. The gaps will fill in as the teeth move. I have gaps now, but don't expect to have them at then end.

My dentist will also file my teeth in about 4 spots to create room for movement. I think this is pretty common... But having gaps at the end, that is not normal.

I had the filing done, too, in the beginning & am supposed to have more midway - but the gaps that disappoint me re the "finished" smile.

Why you YOU approve your clincheck when you dont know anything about orthodontics? The whole point in the first stage of finishing your trays is to get your teeth in good enough form to THEN think about anye refinements that are needed. And your only a third of the way through? Relax...you wont notice a big different until atleast half way.
