Invisalign Experience... Not Quite Finished

Pros: not too expensive (and in my case can be paid by monthly deposits), the fact that it is less noticeable than braces, not painful, you can floss easily and it straightens your teeth!

Cons: the buttons (which I wasn't aware I had to have before) which make my invisalign not-so invisible, but definitely much better than braces!, the fact that I have to take them out whenever I want to eat or drink (frustrating on a night out!)

Why I did it: I've had braces in the past, and did not want to have to go through the whole process of those wire tracks showing every time I opened my mouth, so invisalign seemed like a really good option. Also, I've always wanted a 'perfect' smile, or as close as I could get to getting it without any major dental cosmetic procedures..

I haven't quite finished the procedure yet, I only had 6 on my bottoms and on my 10/12 for my top set, but not sure if I need more after that, so I have a consultation with the dentist once I'm all done with the 12. I'm hoping at this stage I'll be able to get my buttons removed, because as much as invisalign has done for me, I'd definitely prefer to have these things off! Will write full review once completely done with treatment.

NOTE: to anyone whose considering this treatment, invisalign is not as invisible for some (because of the buttons) and you should read up on the need for retainers afterwards, and the cost of replacing retainers regularly (as they do slowly get distorted as time goes by to the shape that your teeth want to go in)- 2 things I wasn't aware of before signing up for invisalign, but I do not regret it at all!... so far- we'll see with the final results!

Also, do not know final costs yet so will have to be edited. Just did totally random guess.

Good advice to make sure people are aware of the cost associated with replacing the retainers. I don't think that is usually thought of when considering getting Invisalign.

I have heard some people complain that the buttons are not only visible but also uncomfortable. Have you found them to be uncomfortable at all, or is it just the look of them that bothers you?

I have found one of the buttons seems to create a sore in my mouth.
