I am on my third retainer and it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. The first retainers hurt pretty bad but after a few days I felt fine. Changing out the retainers hurts a bit at first but not nearly has bad as the first retainer.
You definitely have to change your eating and drinking habits. Brushing after everything you eat or drink makes it difficult to enjoy snacking.
It's been a little more difficult for me too since I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant.

He has been really nice and great in explaning the process. Also, when I got for my new retainers I'm in and out of his office quickly.
