Scheduled tomorrow for Smart Lipo on the abdomen and "flanks". I sound like a heffer. :) I'm 5'3 on a good day, 124 lbs, but since menopause the belly has gotten out of control. I am excited as much because this will "cure" my curiosity.

drinking water til midnight---probably earlier, and taking herbals to avoid bruising. Will be going under a general, because my doc prefers this, and that has me worried. I've seen one too many episodes of Grey's Anatomy.

on the other side....although my typing ability has been compromised :)

I am home with a large white corset. Went fine. The anesthesiologist told me the hard part was getting the numbing shot before the IV needle. I'm a little wiggy and in somepain but certainly not horrid. I've been in bed dozing, because I have nothing else to do---

I will talk to dr. this evening, I hope. The post op folks told me he removed 1500 ccs===okay.I am draining pretty profusely---lots of blood and other stuff I guess. I put arnica on my thighs because I have read the swelling moves "downhill".

More later...but ask away if you are curious.

day one. Pain but certainly no unbearable. Had my flanks and abdomen smart lipod yesterday---feel pretty good. I'm trying to stay in front of pain so I am taking my meds consistently. I am also drinking an herbal tea to help with constipation---THAT part, I remember from my C section 14 yrs ago. :)

Ive had more leakage and bleeding that I thought I would but its very manageable. My doc put me under a general anethetic and I think I am glad about that====while I know one CAN watch TV or listen to music or drink an umbrella drink while someone is (for lack of a better way of saying it) vacuuming their bod, I really didnt want to do that.
I was in at 8 and out by 11:30. pretty amazing---
Have been taking Arnica tabls and Bromolain and now putting the arnica cream on my tummy and legs (blood flows downhill_. I think its working...
Nap time :) I can only type so much before I start getting loopy. ask away, all,

I took one more day off of work but am taking it easy now, though back at my desk. I feel a bit battered and bruised when not on pain meds----the meds work well but i also dont want to be particularly spacey either. Its a choice.

there is a little more bruising and swelling now that I am a few days out---but I still like the results a lot.

More pics to follow.

Sarja, your after pics are looking good, even after 1 day. I'm glad things seemed to have gone well for you and your managing the pain okay. How long to you think your "downtime" is going to be?

Agreed. Wow... what a great "Day 1" result!

Good luck today and *fingers crossed* that everything goes smoothly! I'm sure you'll do fine. Say hi to McDreamy for me. ;)

thanks. I wish. If he looked like that I dont think I'd need the painkillers. :)
UPdates to come, mostly because I've really appreciated reading others. :)
