I, honestly, do not know about the pros and cons about microdermabrasion, but after I did it my face looked as if it had two *red* whiskers on my cheeks... Two red lines, I mean...
I got a gift voucher and had gone to get a haircut, manicure and pedicure (a facial lipolift was included in the voucher but they said I was too young for that) and they suggested that I'd better go for an open pores treatment because I have many pores. I spent about Rupees 1800 ( = $41) on it. I got a discount because I was a student. They said that it was more than $ 65 for the treatment though.
I am 22 years old and have open pores, some pimples (rarely) and a few obvious marks and a dermatologist suggested that I go for an open pores treatment (MD) and get the pores closed. I believe that MD stands for microdermabrasion because the description of the treatment online and the treatment that I got looked similar. I had gone for the treatment once. They said that I'll need to get it done once more (or maximum twice more) and suggested that I apply some of their products (real pricey for a student) after the treatment.
