10lb regain

I'm struggling with a 10 pound regain. My lowest weight was 135 and I'm 145 right now. I have an almost constant craving for sweets. There is a report that the gastric sleeve also has rapid gastric emptying meaning that you frequently will feel hunger or emptiness in your stomach. I've had some stressors lately such as they said I have a large fibroid that may require a hysterectomy which was devastating for me. I already feel like my life path is so much different from everyone else's. I'm proud of my progress I do a lot every day in order to stay healthy. I walk at least 5 miles a day with my dog I go to the gym at least four hours a week and try just to eat lean proteins and vegetables. People have said that it might be muscle gain because I've been lifting more than I have been. I think it's that I eat out more & alcohol consumption. It's in my power to make the best choices.

Reflections

1/11/13:I would do it again! I've lost 28lbs since sleeved 11/16. That's the most I've lost in the past 7 years& I'm under 200lbs for the 1st time in 8 yrs. those are major victory for me. I had internal bleeding, fell, ruptured a lap site& lost half my blood. That's a relatively small complications ( take it from me the surgical nurse). I feel fantastic. Even though I did not have the optimal experience everyone else described, I didn't lose 40lbs in a month. I still have to work for it, but I would never have kept these pounds off or had portion control or satiety without the surgery.

5/31:

I'm re-committing to my self& a healthy lifestyle. Ive been off the wagon& it scares me. I've included a lot if unhealthy foods. I ate fast food 2x this week. No buns. But I know it's barely food. I started off eating 1 piece of dark chocolate every once in a while & now its every day. My carb goal was under 20, then 50 now I average 80 with 1000+ calories. I'm craving carbs& being at my parents house was white carb heaven. I need to lower my carb count. I just don't feel the restriction with my sleeve that I did before. I'm only 6 months out. the realization that my old friends cheese, carbs, & chocolate are not truly my friends, but a comfort & diversion from real issues. I do have power over what I eat& I need to make changes.

2 yrs post op- maintaining goal wt I requires constant vigilance& dedication.

Awesome. I care more about a competent MD than somebody holding my hand or trying to sell me with confidence. I have personally take care of his patients for several years.
