Worth It
Spent: $425 in Rincon, GA
I have had melasma on my face since I was 30 years old. over the years it has taken on a greyish tint. I have used triluma for the first couple of years with sucess, but then the melasma got a little out of hand. i went to the dermatologist in savannah and she recommended the IPL treatment. After looking at my skins, she told me it would be a minimum of 2 treatments, but may take up to six. I was very sceptical, but at this point what did I have to lose? I went for my spot check, which tested areas of the skin based on a particular frequency. The cost of this was $75. I also elected to undergo facial hair removal with the IPL treatment. The facail cream that I was using to remove hair from my upper lip was causing melasma due to the skin becoming inflamed after treatment. My first IPL treatment was actually much to my surprise, very successfull. It took 45 minutes. She put goggles on me to protect my eyes and then began the treamtment. It stings a little, much like a rubber band, and I jumped everytime i knew she was going to press on my face- but on a scale of 1-10, i would say the pain was a 3. Within a few days, the hair on my upper lip was falling out! I was completly shocked that it actually worked! The melasma is significantly lighter. In fact, I thing I will only need one more treatment. The hair only grew back in one tiny little patch on my upper lip, and when I tweeze it, the hair releases easily. It has been 3 weeks as of this date. The treatment with the hari removal cost me $425. I will go again in 2 weeks. I would definetly recomend this to any one!! Just so you know, I am white and hair dark brown hair and brown eyes. I am told it works best with people who have my skin tone and eye/hair color. I will let you all know how the second treatment goes!
