Day three post op
First and foremost, I would like to share the things that you may not think about before surgery. The worst thing in my opinion was the breathing tube, because there is a ton of mucus in your lungs and throat... Which leads to very painful coughing. But, the one thing that makes your experience better, is having the most amazing and genuine dr in our entire area. Yesterday, day two, was the worst for me because I kept coughing and being extremely sore. My husband gave me a sponge bath, which helped make me feel better, but when I could not get any relief from the coughing fits, my husband called Dr. Steely. He was very concerned with my comfort level, and due to the time we call, late evening, he suggested some robitussin to soothe the coughing. Make sure it doesn't have any form of aspirin!!! But you know what really blew my mind? Dr Steely stayed on the phone with my husband and patiently answered all of our questions.. After seeing my results, and experiencing Dr Steely's extremely genuine and compassionate behavior, I would encourage anyone even thinking of getting work done to see him. He has the perfect bedside manner, he won't tell you what you want to hear, he speaks the truth from his experience... I could go on and on! He is that way with all of his patients. And then his staff is wonderful too! I couldn't really talk yesterday because I was in so much pain, so I handed off the phone to my husband. They made sure he knows exactly what to do, why, when, and how! I was so blessed to have found Dr. Steely and his staff. Trust me when I tell you that you are going to want someone as professional and comforting as Dr Steely! Ok, I'm off my soap box :). My drain tube has been slowly producing less and less bloody substance. At first it was a thick bright red koolaid, and now it's more of a raspberry lemonade. Today is soooo much more improvement than yesterday!! Anyway, I love my results, and I just want to hug myself!!
OMGGGGGGG!!!!! You ladies are not going to believe this!!!!!!!
So, I am one day post op, and I look better than ever!!!!!! I mean, the pain is obviously there, but look at how much better I look even now!!!!!! I absolutely love Dr Steely and his staff!!!!!!!!!
I made it!!!!!
So yesterday was my surgery day, and everything went so smooth !! I haven't taken a bath yet, but I am this evening and will take even more pics. First of all, the hospital was full of the most wonderful nurses and staff!! As soon as I got there, I filled out my paper work and went back to my room to change, have my iv set up, and take my valum(sp?). We got there early so my husband and I took a nap until it was "cocktail" time before hey wheeled me back. All I remember is getting in the elevator , then waking up in the recovery room, lol! Dr steely came in before all that to talked to us, and made the markings on my breasts and stomach. When I woke up in the recovery room, I started coughing horribly, but my nurse came right to me and made sure I was ok. He then went to get me some ice chips, because I was so dehydrated. And by the way, when you first wake up, your implants are going to seem very heavy! If you are in any pain at all, tell your nurse and he will give you anything you want for it, within reason. My surgery was roughy 8 hours, but it was so worth it!! I can't wait to see it tonight!!!!!!!! Today has been pretty hard, but I take my medicine every 4-6 hours. I've found that getting up and slowly moving around for a few minutes, helps with the pain too. Just don't stand all the way up! I'll update you more tonight, and when I get my before and after school from Dr. Steely!!!!!!
