I've had 90% 3rd degree burns since I was two and about 80 surgeries. I would rate this the 2nd worse. It was extremely taxing physically and emotionally. i cried 5 days straight unless i was asleep which made congestion drop in my chest & i wasnt able to cough it up.
I couldn't sit up on my own for 8 days, for the first time in my life begged the nurse to let me stay in the hospital bc of how it hurt. On the 10th day I started feeling better increasingly. The 14 the night was the first night I was able to lay in bed at night to sleep without so much pressure that it constricted my breathing.
I'm a strong girl, but this was very rough. I am fixing to go for my 2nd fill up and am dreading it. My surgeon did excellent work, but this is very taxing. I would highly consider if this surgery is right for you.
