4 Month update

Just wanted to add an update. Still in love with them!

Day 2

I LOVE my results! The whole time I was on the fence about whether or not to go through with the surgery but I knew I wasn’t happy with my before look. My few friends that have implants love them and my husband has always been supportive of the surgery so I figured I really didn’t have anything to loose. And as my husband put it when I asked him what he thought about the surgery “Well, you won’t look any worse!”

The day of surgery I was home around 10:30 and slept for a bit. By 12 I was up and around and not in a lot of pain. The nurse recommended only talking Tylenol instead of the prescription pain killer since I had family coming over for dinner. Luckily, the Tylenol kept the pain at bay and I was able to run a few errands (with my husband driving) and have a great dinner with my family and kids. I did take the prescription pain pill to sleep but still didn’t sleep great at night.

The second day I was a little more sore and again was hanging out with my family from out of town but chose to take one prescription pain pill. It kept the pain at bay most of the day but by the later afternoon I was worn out and sore. Although I am not supposed to I still picked up my kids on occasion and probably did some other things I shouldn’t have throughout the day. I came home, took a nap, and felt a lot better. I am still sore this evening and hoping to be able to take it a little easier tomorrow. I am also trying to stick to just Tylenol for now so I can drive if needed.

I am still loving my results - so is my husband (a little too much!). I have the fullness I was lacking and I like the way I look in tops. I didn’t have a lift so my breasts aren’t “up there” but they are so much better than they were. I am happy with my decision to not have a lift with the extra scars and longer/harder recovery. So far so good.

3 consultations review

First consultation: Dr. Horndeski
He recommended no implants and to have the Horndeski Method performed. He calls his method the scarless lift and the results would be a lift with a modest increase my bust size. He said I was the perfect candidate for this method. But, I felt like everyone that walked through his door he felt was the “perfect candidate” for his method. He didn’t explore any other options and I felt he just wanted to get me on his operating table to perform the Horndeski Method. I liked the idea of a scarless lift and not having implants but something just didn’t sit right with me.

Second consultation: Dr. Ciarivano
He is known as the “breast doctor” and one of my friends recommended him to me. I wasn’t sure I would like him as he is known for performing surgeries on 20 somethings that want big boobs. To my surprise I liked him. He said I was borderline lift but that he was sure I could achieve the look I wanted with just implants at this time. He recommended around 300 cc over the muscle.

Third consultation: Dr. Vitenas
From the reviews I have read he does a lot of breast surgeries on women in my situation. Like Dr. Ciarivano he also said I don’t need a lift and that just implants would give me the look I wanted. Out of all the three doctors he was the only one I felt truly comfortable with and whom I felt like really listened to what I wanted. He was there to help me try on different sizes and also explain what results I could expect. He recommended 307 cc and 330cc under the muscle. After the consultation I spent a good amount of time talking with Cheryl, patient coordinator, about my concerns, the differences between under and over the muscle, and about generally what would truly work for me.

Obviously, I went with Dr. Vitenas. I had the consultation on a Wednesday, pre-op on Thursday and surgery on Friday! I knew if I was going to go through with it I needed to just get it over with. I still wasn’t 100% sure because I was scared I would hate them, they would be too big / too small, that I would regret them or that the recovery would be rough with two little kids at home.

Wonderful from start to finish. Cheryl was my patient coordinator and made me feel comfortable from the second I met her. I appreciated how she answered many of my questions over the phone even before I went in for the consultation, including giving me prices for the different surgeries I may need (augmentation or mastopexy with augmentation). I felt the attention Cheryl and Dr. Vitenas gave me during my consultation was exceptional. It was a comfortable environment and I really felt listened too. Dr. Vitenas even participated when I tried on different sized implants. After the consultation Cheryl and I had a pretty long chat with her about everything and she patiently answered more of my questions. Dr. Vitenas and his team were the perfect fit for me and I couldn't be happier with my results.
