Invisalign: Stories

The Invisalign treatment for my teeth, top and bottom tray cost $5500 but with my insurance I only had to pay $1900, which was wonderful because I conveniently had $2000 for the year in my flex spending account. Tax free and no money spent up front was very exciting. I have to wear my trays for 6 months and I am going on my 2nd month. They feel great, I love the tightness on my teeth. The feeling that the trays are actually gripping my teeth make me well aware that the trays are working every second of the day. I take them out only when I eat and drink colored liquids which is about 1 hour a day.

My speech was funky for the first 2 days and after that back to normal. No pain, no headaches and no teeth sensitivity. They are practically invisible and I have friends and coworkers who still have no idea I have an appliance in my mouth.

I had to get 4 buttons on my teeth, they are noticeable to me and feel funny when the trays are out, so it almost serves as more motivation to put the trays back in so I can regain that slick feeling against my tongue instead of the rough buttons.

Very happy with how painless this procedure is and cannot wait to see the results. I am so shocked at how affordable and convenient this is and can’t believe I almost got braces instead. A couple of dentists (who in hindsight probably did not have expert experience with Invisalign) told me I was NOT a good candidate and would need metal braces, third time is a charm because my third consultation I was told “no problem” and had my custom trays delivered in a few weeks.

Get second, third and fourth opinions if you have to people, this is your smile you will have to live with so it’s worth the time.

Its February, I completed my Invisalign at the end of December and the results are amazing! I get compliments daily and I am so much more confident. I love the way my smile looks in photos now too, I used to untag myself on Facebook because my smile was so embarassing. Now I'm happy to see I finally have the smile that I have always desired. Those 6 months went by so fast, and all without any pain or hassles. I did not need any refinement and was given a free whitening, I couldn't be happier! I get married in 4 weeks and I am so glad that I will have so much more confidence on my big day and will not try to hide my teeth. I would be kicking myself if I got braces, I would still have a year and half left of treatment with braces! I wear my retainer every night just to keep my smile picture perfect, I'm so used to the trays that it really is no difference to me, plus it prevents me from grinding my teeth in my sleep, which was a problem before Invisalign. I have zero complaints with the process and can honestly admit that it was the best investment I've ever made.
