When I asked why he hadn't addressed my major concern -- a wide nasal bone on the right side of my face -- during the surgery, he said it was "too hard." Supposedly, my nose would get better after "the swelling went down," but a year later my nose was a wreck and he had nothing to say for himself. He left my nose bulbous and crooked, and it was only meant to have a minor change. One NY doctor wanted $12,000 to fix it. It took me years to save for a Phila. doctor to fix it for almost $8,000 and three hours in surgery.
Great review?
My Doctor: John P. Stratis, MD
My rating:
I shudder to think how many faces he ruined before he became "body-focused." I had a rhinoplasty from Dr. Stratis a few years ago. It was right before he added a partner and became only "body-focused." (The partner is "face-focused.) What a dope I was and what a mess I got. Please, shop around and be careful in your choice of plastic surgeon. I wish I had interviewed more doctors, shopped around more, and reviewed an extensive book of his work.
