Why: Staff explaned procedure and answered my questions honestly. Doctor was professional, but nice. He didn't overstate the results I could expect. So far I'm very happy with the procedure.

So far I’m please and would do it again. I am 53 years old and in spite of good diet and working out 3 times a week, I no longer had a waist and I had a belly that wouldn't go away (menopause). In addition, I have had “thunder thighs” all my life.

I had Smartlipo on 27 Feb 09 and so far I’m happy. My doctor used the suction method to extract approximately 10 lbs of fat from my upper and lower abdomen, flanks (side of waist and back below bra) and inner and outer thighs. I have very good skin for my age and before the procedure my doctor told me that my results should be good, except my skin may be a little loose in the inner thigh area. Most people don’t have as much work done as I did, preferring to have only one or two areas done at a time, but I only wanted to have to wear the garment one time.

The procedure was long and wasn’t pleasant, but not as bad as I expected. I was given two oral sedatives when I arrived at the office and I was awake the whole time (I arrived at the office at 9am and left just before 5pm). I listened to a recorded book on my MP3 player the whole time which kept my mind off what was going on.

I drained for a little over 24 hours, especially from my thighs, which was unpleasant and messy, but all the holes closed up after that and much of the color from the bruising is going away. I was up and getting around fairly well after 2 days and I only needed the pain medication the night after the procedure. After 1 ½ weeks my thighs are still purple, but getting better. I still have considerable swelling and during the day and the areas can get hard and tender. I hope this will diminish soon. By the end of three weeks I will be very ready to get rid of this body suit. I am 5’10” and I don’t think it was made for people taller than 5’7”. I tug at it a lot.

As soon as I got home I could see the difference in my waist. I now have one! I still have considerable swelling so my abdomen is still there, although flatter and not as pronounced and I don’t see as much difference in my thighs as I would like. However, I will give it more time for the swelling to go down before final judgment. Even with the swelling, I now can very comfortably wear pants that were very tight before the smartlipo. I also am very pleased with what I see in the mirror.

I plan to post picture after my three month appointment. The clinic will provide both my before and 3month pictures at that time. At the moment I don't think the pictures would be very meaningful as I still have considerable swelling.
