I have had a full facelift with Dr. Koelliker on February 27, 2013 at Guadalupano hospital in Guanajuato, Mexico. I also had fat transplants injected into my upper & lower lips.
Now age 63, I had been contemplating this surgery for the past 10 years. As I looked in the mirror, everything was sagging. Since I recently lost 25 lbs., I had a turkey neck and hooded eyes, as well as jowls.
When you feel depressed over your appearance, it can affect every aspect of your life. If you feel the same way, please do not hesitate to consider Mexico as an option for surgery.
Due to News Media, most people do not realize that the U.S./Mexico border problems do not extend down into central Mexico. It is completely safe and provides excellent medical care.
As I did my research, I found that the cost of facelifts in the U.S. ranged from $10K - $26K. I did not wish to spend that sum and not receive supervised after care.
I was thrilled to learn of Pat Marino’s Cosmetic Surgery Service (FACELIFT MEXICO). I was reassured due to the fact that she has more than 20 years experience with a ‘perfect’ (100%) success rate record.
Pat responded immediately to my email inquires. After speaking on the phone several times, I had complete confidence regarding her program. I booked my airline ticket right away!
Upon my arrival at Leon Airport, a pleasant English-speaking driver met me and drove me to the hospital.
Guadalupano hospital is small, but has been renovated. You will be pleased with your comfortable private room and bathroom. I was surprised to find the hospital food is very good. They have a delicious chicken soup that tasted homemade. A menu is provided, while meals are served with linen, china and silverware.
The nurses came to my room immediately and got me prepared for my blood work and EKG.
Shortly thereafter, Dr. Koelliker came to my room for my consultation. He is a competent, dedicated professional (as well as a kind, caring person) and I could tell that he loves his work.
Dr. Kelliker’s fee is $6,500: ($2,000 deposit + $4,500 paid at the time of your consultation). The upper/lower lip fat transplants are $600. You may also have upper/lower lip Derma-abrasion for an additional $600 and Botox is $200 per area.
My surgery was scheduled for 8 am the next morning. I was given ‘Twilight IV sedation’ for the surgery, not general anesthesia.
Dr. Koelliker uses the SMAS technique. The SMAS Facelift differs from the traditional Facelift in that it lifts the deeper layer of the face. SMAS means superficial musculo-aponeurotic system. It is composed of multiple fibrous extensions that attach through the subcutaneous fat to the superficial epidermal-dermal layer of the skin, and these connections cause the three layers of the facial skin to “move together” as a unit.
If the underlying muscular areas are not addressed, the skin will look ‘drawn and taut’ resulting in a ‘mask-like’ appearance. However, the SMAS procedure produces a natural look that you will be pleased with.
3 ½ hours following surgery, I was returned to my room. I was bruised and swollen (see photos), but did not experience any pain. I had an IV for 24 hours afterward comprised of pain medication and antibiotics. Both the nurses and Dr. Koelliker checked in on me frequently. The quality of care given to me at this hospital was excellent!
On the 3rd day following surgery, I was transported to CASA MARINO for my week of recovery. Pat met me at the door with a hug. She accompanied me to my room & showed me its amenities.
I immediately fell asleep on the bed with its luxurious pillows and linens that included a warm, cozy electric blanket.
While the hospital stay exceeded my expectations, the time spent at CASA MARINO Club and Spa (4++ star) was fantastic! The atmosphere of Spanish old world colonial charm in the magical city of San Miguel de Allende is the PERFECT follow-up to your facelift surgery.
The friendly, competent staff will pamper you as you enjoy the home-style nutritious meals served twice daily.
If you can, do arrive 1-2 days early to enjoy a relaxing massage and hot tub soak on the rooftop. Yoga classes are also permitted prior to surgery.
Dr. Koelliker will come to CLUB MARINO prior to your return flight home to remove your stitches. You will not need to visit his office. WOW, where can you find someone who does ‘house calls’ in the U.S.?
I was peaceful and calm during my stay in San Miguel. My new friend and ‘surgery buddy’ took walking tours of the city shopping and photographing the beautiful sites.
We found the Mexican people to be kind, courteous and friendly. Nearly everyone speaks English here.
On the last night of my stay, I was treated to a ‘farewell party’ on the rooftop at sunset. Words cannot express the extent of my gratitude to Pat and her husband Greg for their kindness and hospitality during my stay at CASA MARINO. They are wonderful people who treat you like family members, as well as their guests.
If you are considering a facelift, dental work, or any of the other cosmetic procedures offered by FACELIFT MEXICO; you owe it to yourself to take advantage of this wonderful, life changing package offered for an excellent value.
