Recovery and back to real life

I stayed two nights with my mom in a hotel and 2 days post op I was able to drive the hour and a half back home. My surgeon used an internal anesthetic that lasts about 3 days and greatly reduces recovery pain so that helped a HUGE amount...my biggest discomfort was in my rib cage, a lot of pressure and Ikindof felt like I waws all bruised up but there never ended up being bruising in that area. On Saturday morning I only took extra strength Tylenol that morning because of the driving and I was fine, making hard turns was a bit uncomfortable but my surgeon encouraged me to gently stretch to full range of motion right away so I haven't had tightness with being able to reach my arms anywhere. My surgery was Thursday, I drove home Saturday and my husband was there to take care of my Sat and Sun. We actually even went to lunch the two of us Saturday although i didn't have much of an appetite yet, I was able to go out and about and the fresh air was nice.

Monday I was back to reality as my hubby went back to work and it was just me and my three kiddos. I had to get everyone up and ready for school in the morning (my older two are in K and 2nd grade) and my youngest is 2-he was the hardest but I had started teaching him to climb into his carseat with a stepstool before the surgery so that helped. I had another follow up Monday and my Dr said they are looking great, the bruising is going down and she gave me a non narcotic pain medicine that I can take so that I can still drive my kids to and from school. That helped a lot as I was pretty uncomfortable with just Tylenol and the internal anesthetic wearing off plus trying to get everything done with the kids Monday.

So I think I'm caught up, today is Tuesday and with the new pain medicine and taking it easy I'm feeling much better than yesterday. Part of me can't believe I actually did it. So far I'm over the moon pleased with how they are looking. The Dr showed me yesterday how to do the massages and while it's uncomfortable to squeeze/push on the bottom part still they are moving around pretty well and I have high hopes that they'll be great when they D&F. Sorry for the lack of pics, I'm kinda private so I haven't taken a ton of them.

Quick Recap of Surgery Day

I got my surgery 1.5 hours from my house and decided to have my Mom meet me there and stay with me at a hotel for two days after my surgery before coming home to my hubby and three little boys. (Ended up being a great decision for me). The day of my surgery I was scheduled for 12:30 and was told to arrive at 11:30. I dropped my kids off at school/friends houses in the morning and drove up to Greensboro. I met my mom at the hotel and got my things settled and we headed to the plastic curgery center. The Dr has a surgery suite in her office which I liked. Unfortuantely I was the third surgery of the day and the first two girls had been difficult to wake up and I ended up not going in until 3:30...hard because I hadn't eaten or drank since midnight the night before and my mom and husband were both very worried and stressed.

I wasn't very nervous, I just wanted to get it done so I could start on the the healing process. I joked around with the staff until I went to the surgery suite, I remember laying down and next thing I knew I was in recovery and I was shocked when they told me it was 6:30 in the evening!! I asked what size they put in and they said 450 so I was excited about that, I knew she had the 400, 425, and 450s in the suite and I told her I trusted her to put in what fit me best for the look I was going for. I wasn't uncomfortable, a little bit of pressure on my chest but okay. My Mom took me back to the hotel and I did feel a teeny bit nauseous but never got sick, mostly just had a dry mouth. Took my meds religiously and slept a for a few hours at time, watched old movies with my mom, and just chilled out until my post op the next morning.

I thought it only fair after reading everyone's...

I thought it only fair after reading everyone's reviews that I post my own. I'm a 34 year old mother of 3 boys, all C-sections. I've always been a 32A, got up to a C/D when my milk came in and a 34B while nursing (nursed all my boys for 1-1.5 years. After weaning my youngest last year I was back to an A but deflated with extra skin. I've been wanting an augmentation since I was in college and finally decided to go for it! I had my consult and scheduled my surgery for ten days later-very fast!

Dr. Contogiannis was incredibly thorough and informative during the consultation and I felt a great deal of confidence in her ability as a surgeon. I showed her a ton of pictures of my ideal look after the surgery and she took the time to go through them with me and really get a grasp on my preferred end result. At my pre-op and the day of my surgery she was fantastic and I fully trusted her judgement going into the operating room that I would come out with the best size/profile of implant. So far I highly recommend her.
