Progress :D

Well it has been a while since I have had to to post anything but I am 8 weeks away from having the smile I have always wanted thanks to Strasdin Orthodontics! I have had an amazing 26 weeks of progress using Invisalign and can't believe how easy it has been. I have always loved to smile but thanks to Invisalign I now smile with confidence :D

I really have no complaints, I am so used to the trays in my mouth that I always forget about them in there! The last few sets are becoming slightly tighter so a minor headache on the first day of tray change but never anything greater.

My Orthodontist says my teeth are tracking great as I am wearing my trays exactly as prescribed and chewing on my chewies several times a day; as a result, I now only have to wear each set for 10 days instead of 14.

Keep smiling :)

Week One of Tray #2

so I have been absolutely crazy busy with moving into my mew house, working longer as busy season picks up and finding out I have pneumonia and that my carpal tunnel syndrome is bad enough for surgery after years of physio. But, I still get excited when ever I remember I am wearing my Invisalign! I have wanted this for so long that I really can't imagine forgetting to put my trays in or starting to fall behind on maintaining the trays or my teeth.

I switched to trays #2 on June 10 and found they were tight but nowhere near as uncomfortable feeling as putting the very first set of trays in; this is partially due to preemptively filing all of the rough edges with my emery board before wearing them. I am totally accustomed to the way the trays fit in my mouth and how they feel on my teeth now that I barely ever think about them. I have been chewing on my chewie religiously as I want to make sure I keep blood flow and stimulation coming to help my teeth move and seat my trays. I haven't had any headaches or clenching issues so I am very grateful for that. The one thing I have noticed is that my teeth feel very sharp when I take my trays out; now this is probably related to two things : 1) my tongue is now used to always feeling the smooth plastic that is covering my teeth so naked teeth feel sharp and extra pointy in comparison to the trays, and 2) I have been chewing my chewies every day for 20 minutes and my teeth are becoming slightly sharpened from constantly rubbing along the inside of each ridge inside of my invisaligners (if you look closely at your trays you will see small rings in the plastic that appear to be stacked to make up the formation of the outer contours of each tooth). I know these two factors are at play because my teeth feel dangerously sharp (hence the 1st scenario) and I can now cut through a piece of steak by biting down using only my central and lateral incisors which will cut through like a hot knife in butter (hence scenario 2).

Aide from that I have no new sensations, pains or troubles related to my trays. I love them and can't wait for June 23 because that is when I will have my attachments put on my upper and lower molars. This will allow for more movement to be made by applying pressure on the teeth that need to be moved; and, who knows what new experiences I will have to share then :)

Keep smiling!!!

update photos

I promise a longer blog post mid week when I change to tray set #2. For now here are some comparison photos; you can see how my tray ones don't look as tight now that I have had them in for ~10 days. Keep smiling!
