2 weeks post op

Well, tomorrow makes two weeks post op on medial thighs, knees and calves. My recovery has been slow and tough, but getting better each day. I'm still very bruised. I ended up having a very large hematoma on the back of my left leg. I have a lot of swelling so it's hard to see any result yet. My calves are a but smaller. My left side has always been more swollen than the right. I have a lot of tightness and numbness. I scheduled my first lymphatic drainage massage for 3 weeks post op. I hope it helps. If you are considering calves just know it's a long hard recovery. I took two weeks off work and I still can't walk normally. I know it will be worth it this summer when I finally feel confident to wear shorts and skirts.

First day post op

Well I survived the 4.5 hour surgery on my medial thighs, inner thighs and calves. By far my calves hurt the most. I can't even walk or bear weight on them. My husband went and bought me a walker this morning. My pain level without meds is a 10! With meds it takes it down to a 6. I've been keeping my feet up. My left calf is a lot more swollen than my right. I've been icing and taking Norco for the pain. In addition I'm taking arnica, vitamin c and Bromelin. The hardest part is standing up or laying down. The best way to describe it would be a soreness after a workout x 100. Lol. I know each day will get better. The compression garment helps, but the drainage has been staining it. I may purchase a second one. I have no regrets because no pain no gain. I will post pics soon.

Getting sooooo nervous!

Only 6 days away from surgery and I'm sick to my stomach with fear. Doc says surgery will take 4 hours or so under general anesthesia. I have to stop reading posts because the negative ones make my anxiety go through the roof. I'm prepared for a long painful recovery. It can't be worse than giving birth?!? Lol, I have a low pain tolerance and get nauseous easily. Someone tell me it's going to be ok! ;-)
