4 weeks post op Feeling as if I am over stuffed and a bit afraid that I will be stuck with FAKE looking breasts.

It's been 4 weeks and they have softened a bit and dropped a little but I cannot wear anything even slightly low cut as it will show the upper pole fullness which has the FAKE look. I SO very much wanted to have natural looking breasts and I worry that they will stay TOO BIG! I have breasts in the way of my arm pits and not liking that at all. I wanted them out front, not spreading out. I'm having LOTS of muscle spasms and it feels as if my breasts just won't relax.

I read and read again on here about how long it may take to drop and soften. I can't imagine that they will become what I was hoping for at this point...but am HOPING that they will.

I also have a small bubble on the left side near my under arm that looks like a little breach of the implant. It looks lumpy.

I''ll be calling my surgeon and staff for a look see appointment.

I tried on bras and swim suits , tank tops and am embarrassed to be seen in them. NO swimming for me! I have WAY too much BOOB for my frame and WAY TOO Much upper fullness at this point. Not sure if it is LOTS of swelling, tight muscles or my implants are simply too large or too wide or the wrong type for the look I was hoping for. WORRIED and sad but hoping this will resolve in time.

I will post what the surgeon/staff says after my appointment. No crying until I hear the news.

9 days post op

i had a post op check up with Dr Brundage to see how things were healing/looking and to address any issues or instructions.

He said things looked very good . No need for surgical bra at night for me. Walking, light exercise is ok, but nothing strenuous. I may use tylenol or ibuprofen for pain and the icepacks if I choose. I hate the meds and the constipation that they cause so THIS was great news for me. I Will follow up
with him in 4-6 weeks unless any issues come up.

How do I feel? and LOOK?

I sleep reclined for comfort. I am not in pain except for my right side is a bit sensitive and sore especially in the morning. Right Nipple is very sensitive OUCH but getting better already.I feel lots of tightness in the upper and lower half of breasts which I do not like. If I was 20 or 30 years old.. my breasts would look fabulous right now but I am hoping for lots of dropping as I have a bit more upper fullness, cleavage and firmness than I want. THEY are softening a bit more each day. It's challenging to find ways to hide the upper fullness. I may have stubborn muscles and skin that resists stretching but I will TRY to be patient. If they drop and the upper smooths out and softens, I WILL WONDER why I did not do this sooner. I can see that my life will be so much easier and will no longer have to find ways to fill out my clothes. I feel SO much more balanced right now .

I feel good and if I was younger, I'd say that they look great! BUT I need them to be softer, and lower in order for me to feel comfortable. I HOPE that Dr, Brundage and his staff heard me when I said that I do not want perfect, beautiful full 20-30- year old breasts. If I was younger though.. I'd say that the ones I have now(before dropping and swelling goes down) are very nice, just a bit bigger than looks good for me. I HOPE they get a bit smaller! I had 325cc which should be right for me(former A cup) to end up with a C. the Mod profile plus gel should end up with more projection and less side boob.. I HOPE.

I'm thinking that Dr, Brundage is a good surgeon because I have very little pain and I have no pain or discomfort in the incision area AT ALL. It also appears that he placed my scars IN the crease and will be well hidden after they heal up. I see that some have scars about an inch above the crease and that would be bothersome to me IF I was younger. Glad I did not choose the armpit incision because I would fear infection more there and would be a bit self conscious if wearing tank tops or swimsuits IF the scars showed under both arms. Having them underneath the breast in crease seems like it will suit me best.

I HOPE they drop , get softer and a bit smaller.
Question? How soft will they get and how long will it take?

Day 3

Still sleeping upright/reclined. No real pain to speak of except when rising up from bed and the muscles are tight and stiff/sore at first. No big deal really. It's expected and the pain is necessary to keep me from doing things that will inhibit my healing. I am all about letting the body speak for itself and give it what it needs to heal.. I DO love my icepacks though! Moving the icepacks helps to keep the tightness and the swelling to a minimum.
Walking around with the new implants and the icepacks DOES make me think I made the right choice to not go bigger though. It feels a bit heavy to carry around!. I have new respect for the larger busted women. NOT easy to manage! but I'm sure they are used to it.
Breasts look swollen at top and a little square at the top as well but I think that is due to the icepacks and the more I use my arms, the more I may be swelling up top nearer the armpits. I'm sure it will level out soon.

Provider Review

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
2060 E. Paris Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan

I saw several surgeons in the Grand Rapids area and decided that I loved the personal attention and time that this doctor was actually spending with me. Dr. Brundage did not make me feel as if he was rushed or that my questions were too many. In fact, he gave me much more information than most that I spoke with. One Staff member said good things about him and that IF she needed surgery, She would feel safe with him and that IF any problems arise , he is great at managing and resolving them asap. Also, NO HOSPITAL, no parking issues..and less likely to get sick because of the on site surgical center there.( I fear infection) THAT was a big bonus for choosing this doctor as well as the reputation he has. I found the staff to be very friendly and kept offering to be available to answer any questions. I intend to update with my experience. After I made my choice and paid a down payment though there were a few surprise expenses...and a few things that came up that made me began to question IF I had made the right choice. I decided to go with this doctor anyhow because in the end, it's the surgical skill and follow up that is MOST important to me.That outweighs ALL else! SO, I am hoping that I made the right choice. I'll do my best to keep you posted about the doctor and staff, including the on site surgical center. UPDATE: see my notes above. The surgical staff, ALL of them went above and beyond my expectations and a great team sets us up for success. SO far I VERY HIGHLY recommend them. I called with a question or two post surgery(day of) and the recovery nurse was MORE than thorough. I felt important and not rushed. Good people make this surgical center really stand out so far!
