No I am very nervous, crying tonight my husband is scared, I'm going up and down but I think it's normal! That's interesting about the drawings had my preop appts already.
I went through the emotions already since I was suppose go in on July 17. I've been waiting too long. I've been planning since January and just need to get it over with. Don't chicken out like I did. I regret not doing it earlier. Thought I could loose more weight but only kept off the 20 I lost since June. It'll b worth it: )
dimples and stephie,
this is normal. with my low blood count and two bottles of blood before surgery and the fear i may not wake up ...everything went well and i am 4 days post op and looking great but swollen but that is the price from flat stomach...
do not worry all will be well...

I have some advice for preping for surgery. Since I was scheduled in July, I know some errors to avoid. My doctor gave me my list of things to avoid at my post op 4 days before surgery. That was not good. Apparently you need to stop taking ibuprofen for as long as you can before surgery but at least two weeks. You also can' t have red wine or smoke 14 days before. He also advised no alcohol for 14 days.
When I went in for blood work, I requested the lab forms be mailed so I could get blood taken 3 days prior to my doctor appt so We could go over the results together. I had white blood cells in my urine. They said it was from a contaminated sample or I was developing an infection. It made me paranoid so I rescheduled: ( They told me to get a clean urine sample, you have to wipe front to back with the towelette, pee a little in the toilet, wipe again, and then collect the urine. I never knew!

Im having mine done the same day! I'm so nervous too, hoping I can enjoy my Christmas by then! It's hard when ur husbands not on board but when he sees how much better u feel about urself he will be more then happy :)
I hope so. He thinks the scar will b worse than my current tummy.
Well I don't know what ur stomach looks like but u can hide ur scar not ur whole stomach. So this is the trade off we have, sometimes men just grab at anything because they r just scared something will happen to us!
I will post pics. Thanks for understanding. I'm so Happy I joined this site!
Our date is coming up. Are u getting excited? I sure am. I'm getting the drawings done tomorrow at my pre op. I have to keep them on till surgery on Tuesday. It's a bit odd but will work.
Welcome to the community:)
I understand. My husband took awhile before he decided he might be OK with mine. I told him I know it will hurt but its my choice and that he would love the results, and afterwards he did. I'm 2 weeks PO and he is shocked by how good it looks. The pain is temporary and totally manageable. The results are amazing. :)
How many days was it before you could leave the house? How many pants size did u lose?
I had a doc appt the day after but it wore me out. I went to lunch at almost a week PO and that went OK so I would say about a week. The problem w that is you can't walk for long periods of time, so I take breaks and sit or lean on counter tops. For my size change, it's too early to tell yet. I was a 12/14 when I went under but I'm majorly swollen now and haven't seen size results yet. My nurse told me to wait 6 months before buying new clothes. She waited and ended up going from a 16 to a 10, so that's encouraging!
Which doctor at Woodglen is doing your surgery? I'm considering a tt and would like to stay close to home (La Verne) so this fits the bill, however I want a doc who's double certified.
Dr. Aly. He is a very nice doctor.
Im having a drainless tummy tuck too. with dissolvable stitches. I am hoping for a quicker recovery. :)
I know it will help. I'm just concerned about fluid build-up. But it should help me get better quickly so I can enjoy Christmas Eve at my grandfather's house. With drains, I wouldn't want to leave.
When is your date?
im the 21st.
i don't see a lot of drainless tt or dissolvable stiches on this site.
Wow u r even closer to Christmas. Do u think drains are better or worse? It is a little concerning: (
drainless is better. people are constantly complaining about them.
I sure hope so.
