6 month update!!

I've now reached 6 whole months since I got my nose done - time really does fly! Even at this stage, my nose still gets swollen (maybe scar tissue?) and I've been reading about pollybeak deformities and have totally convinced myself I've got that - hopefully not!! Where the nurses removed my stitches there's a slight overlap in the skin that looks like a teeny tiny skin tag on one side of my columella, but it's so small that I doubt I'll ever go to get it removed. Other than that, it looks pretty much the same as it did 3 months ago!
For my very last musing on this site, I'd like to write something I feel needs to be said:
I honestly think the most important thing when it comes to plastic surgery is the phsychological aspect and the reason behind why you want facial surgery. For anyone reading this, a nose job (or any other facial surgery) IS NOT GOING TO BE THE MAGIC SPELL FOR YOUR INSECURITY. If you haven't truly found self-sustaining comfort in your own home/temple/body no amount of surgery is going to make you happy. I feel that these kinds of words might make the reader say "ah, but not me!!! I know that once I've had X, Y, or Z I'll be content" - but take it from my personal experience (& my debt)... It's just not true.
Do I regret getting surgery? No, my nose turned out fine and it functions perfectly well. However, it wasn't the amazing "cure" for my awkwardness that I hoped for and I know now that it wasn't my nose that was causing my "problems" - it was just me!
I know these words are always extremely generic and boring but hey, there's a reason it's said over and over again... It's true! If there's anyone perusing through this site considering a rhinoplasty just know that honest-to-God there's no better confidence boost than taking the time to know and love yourself, and it's free!!

3 months post-op update (Finally!)

Well it's been over 3 months since the rhino, how time flies! I've attached some pics, but as you can tell, not much has changed. It's still hard in places at the bottom, but other than that, it's been plain sailing for me! I had my last drs appointment on the 25th of September and I was officially discharged :(
My nose still swells slightly in the morning and if I exercise, but nothing major. As far as colds and stuff go, I recently had the cold and lemme tell you, the amount of mucous that came out of my nose was... exponential. And the worst thing is, it's still stiff at the bottom so I couldn't really get in there to clean it! (TMI I know, but that's the reality of rhinoplasty sometimes haha)
I don't know if I'm being picky but I think my nose looks larger on my face because I have a weak chin, and I'm in two minds if, in the distant future, I should opt for a sliding genioplasty. So keep it in mind if you think my nose looks kinda big, it's the chin, people!
Anyway, I think I'll update this at 6 months post-op, and then a year. I get email notifications so if you have any questions or anything like that, just leave a comment or write me a private message!
Besos my dear RealSelf friends! X

7 weeks post op!

God I can't believe it's been 7 weeks! I am so over the moon with my nose. I thought I would attach some more pics since the last ones aren't as clear. Happy healing friends!

Professor Hart is a brilliant surgeon and an all round nice guy. He's realistic with how your surgery may go (in the way of complications) yet very reassuring. They (BMI) don't advertise before/afters which I guess is just for discretion reasons, so don't be put off if you can't find any example nose jobs online - that's why I put mine up here! You also get a revision rhinoplasty for free if it doesn't go as planned, which is good.
