6 days later

Six days after surgery im down 18lbs. I was actually expecting more, but my dr was super happy. Now just trying to adjust to eating again. Other than that I am feeling great.

3 DAYS POST SURGERY AND OH BOY

Ok Everyone, surgery went well. The pain medicine drip they gave me was unbearable. I was nauseous and throwing up the entire time, then they switched me to Percocet and that was a lot better. I was in the hospital exactly 24 hrs and then headed home. I could not wait to get home to my bed where I could really get some rest. Well that's still not happening. Im just a little sore but up until today I could not keep anything down. I cant sleep at all through the night, that is when I am most uncomfortable. I was so uncomfortable at one point I started to think if I made the correct decision. Well when I looked at myself in the mirror this morning, I know I made the right decision. I will post some before and after pics soon. I meet with my dr next week on Tues. I will keep everyone posted

I saw my cousin for the 1st time in a yr. She looked awesome and told me about her procedure and Dr. I found a seminar that the Dr was having in 9/13. I was disappointed to know that my insurance would not cover the surgery with this OON Dr so I waited until 1/14 and increased my insurance. Yay over my 1st hurdle....so I thought. I then had my consultation and got on the scale and saw the # of 288! I immediately came to tears and that is when I realized I was not Fatbulous, I was morbidly obese.
I also have High blood Pressure...so I had to additional clearance. I had to see a psychologist, my PCP, I had a sleep study done, I had to see a Pulmonologist, I had to have a Venous Doppler on the lower extremities, an EKG, and Echo and Exercise Stress Test. On top of that, my insurance required that I see a nutritionist for 6 months. So now I am here, As of Saturday 7/19 all testing is complete and to my knowledge a success. I have to meet with the Cardiologist on 7/21 to confirm there are no complications. And then my big day is 7/23!
I am having so many emotions that are probably normal however new to me because I am beginning a new life @ 41. I think the issue with me is I was always confident in me being Fatabulous wife with 3 kids. When I heard the words Morbidly Obese.......I was crushed and that is when I made the choice to live! This is the beginning of a journey that has started with hurdles but will end in success!
