I agonized over the decision to have a facelift here in Georgia. I am originally from Connecticut not far from NYC and had my choice of high profile doctors. In the end I trusted my gut that my PS here was well trained and skilled. He turned out to be great and I love the results. It is not the easiest surgery in the world to endure so I don't want to make it sound like it is. It is painful and the real recovery can be long, you may look better relatively soon, but the numbness and discomfort can be much longer. The thing that makes it all worth it is the mirror ! I look at myself and am so pleased that I look like me but younger and refreshed. I still need a little restalyne around my eyes, we tried to use some fat from my neck but it wasn't enough to fill the lines. That is fine with me, I am willing to do a little more tweaking but not much. Overall I am 100% happy with my PS and my face !

I just want to clear up that my Doctor is not Douglas but Donald or DJ Campbell MD. He is at Northeast Georgia Plastic Surgery Associates .

its been about 3 months and I am really happy with my lack of jowels ! I started using the Obagi skin care system routinely and it is making a nice difference in my skin texture and brown spots. I am committed to taking good care of my skin and making the most of this surgery ! I am going to have some filler in my tear troughs as my face is smallish and all the fat seems to leave there first, so wish me luck that the grand finale will be some under eye filler !

Thanks ~ I did it after..... since my hair is graying so much trying to keep the brown always gives me a big white stripe of roots so I tried a little lighter to keep the gray at bay and it works so much better ! Thanks for the nice comments, I love the ladies on this site you are all so supportive!

wow you cannot see the jowls are gone on the pic with blonder hair? I had very prominent jowls and now have none.

No Hun I didn't see any jowls so that's why I thought you didn't have anything done.Well you know we are the worst critic and the things we see in our face or neck other people don't even notice them

You look lovely! What a difference, especially in the jowl area!! I'm wondering how many women experience pain after a FL? I had one some years ago and then the following year had a revision done on the lower portion of my face and didn't even take pain meds. Sure, I felt the tightness that everyone talks about. But I considered that proof that the surgeon had done his job. Do you think most people experience pain?

Thanks for you nice comment. Now its been almost 3 months and I am super pleased. I am not sure I would call it pain, like you said its tightness and some weird sensations but its really something you can live through without pain meds, I did it too.

You look great! You are so right that while on the outside you may start looking great in a few weeks, man, on the inside the numbness and discomfort is formidable! I used to live in Gainesville (and worked at Brenau). I had my upper eyelids done at The Swam Center in Alpharetta by Dr. Bauer. He was fabulous! So glad your recovery is going well!

This is wrong ! My doctor was Donald J. Campbell he is an MD who is board certified in Plastic Surgery, !!!!!!

The doctors name is incorrect, I had a plastic surgeon by the name of Donald J. Campbell please fix it !
