“Ok So Far - Frisco, TX”
Spent: $400 in Frisco, TX
Posted 1 Oct 2011
I have had mild acne scars from having break out in college. Living Social had a special for $400 and I bought it. My treatment was schedualed 2 weeks out and I researched the heck out of it. I also had a ton of questions and asked my doctor and Fraxel specialist about it. I read all the bad and good reviews on this site as well. I was scared as heck.
I went into the appointment and the medical team answered all my questions and addressed the concerns. They explained to me the entire process and post care.
It took 1 hour for me to numb. My lips numbed first (My doctor said this would happen). I ended up falling asleep for about an hour while my face numbed. The Fraxel treatment took about 10 minutes to do my entire face. The Fraxel nurse (person administering the treatment) talked me through it. I am not going to lie. It hurt. Bad. Even with numbing. It wasn't a slight sting or discomfort. It was pain. On a scale from 1-10. Definite 9 (I would think child birth would be a 10. I've never given birth).
I did have cold air blowing on my face which helped alot. After she passsed each area my face had a stinging feeling.
I bought the $90 Post Procedure facial cleansing system. The nurse told me that people have problems with Fraxel because they do not take care their face after the treatment. I was told I would have to avoid direct sunlight and wear hats and sunscreen for a good year.
$90 is worth making sure I have the best products to help after the procedure and avoid any problems.
After about 2 hours my face felt almost back to normal. Still a little numb but the "sun burn" feeling faded. The nurse told me to put ice on my face for the swelling but I didn't swell much. Just a little puffy and some puffs around my eyes (more sensitive area).
By the end of Day 1 I already had little brown specs (dead skin) forming and very little white bumps.
So far so good. I can see a little improvement where I had scars. But we will see....
I'll keep you posted.

HI MASMD,
Well it's been a bit over two weeks, did things heal up as you had hoped. Your info about what to expect on the way home is good for the community. We'd love to know if the whiteheads stayed or if they went away, as that is often an area of contention for the community.
Thanks,
-Britt
